very nice, its how we all got started, you'll be there in due time, I had my car stock for only like 2-3 months, good choice in turbo, I wouldnt go very big or expect crazy power unless your ready to shell out tranny money, Clark has some great maps he can mail to you, you should try that unless the cars good without a tune, I assume running bigger injectors, you'll need it tho

oh and a walbro 255, yeah i have an xpt tune which ive heard from multiple people that it is a reliable tune. once i save up the money im gonna go cobb, but i hear i can get away with this for a while perfectly fine. the tune is made specifically for all those mods except the intake which ive accounted for from a tuner who tweaked it for me. i have a question though, i have a hks BOV and was wondering why after installing everything does it sound a lot more quiet??

since you already have something for now, I wouldnt go Cobb (of the shelf map) dont waste your money, get a pro-tune from a tuner on a dyno, what type of engine management are you running? Example- I have Cobb Accessport V2.0 which allows me to change maps with-in 15-20 seconds & ALL while I am still driving. I have 6 maps/ 3 are for pump gas (91 oct) and 3 are for race gas (1x110 leaded map & the others C-16) all conservative threw aggressive depending on how hard I want to push it, Also I dont have a manual boost controller, its a solenoid

Stock one is cheaper and works better with a draw-through MAF system. But, to each his own.

Vaus (Ed) - EQ Tuning. He does opensource road tunes up there. Then you dont have to spend the money on an AP.

Probably because everything else is louder so it sounds quieter.

Do you throw some nice fireballs between shifts with the bov?

Your next step should be saving for a real tune. Your tune may be 'reliable' but a pro-tune will REALLY wake that car up.

your future upgrades should be....
Tires
Brake pads
sway bars
driving courses

In that order.

I believe the tuners screenname on here is Vaus, he is up in northern california i believe and he has many proven fast cars, and i do believe he tuned the record holders car for the fastest stock turbo STI.. He is a pretty well known, reputable tuner here on the boards.. My vote goes to him..
Or if u decide to head down south i also give thumbs up to Jon at HBSpeed.. He tuned my car recently, making ~500whp on c16 on the stock motor.. My buddy on the same dyno put down 485whp and trapped 127 also on the stock motor..

all these tunes were done by Ed from EQ Tuning (his screen name is vaus)

http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/sear...archid=6386478

Just like KBizzle and STimo, I have also been tuned by Jon several different times. He keeps it real and doesnt try and sell you unnecessary parts.

But with the gas prices and travel time to get to HB Speed I think Ed @ EQ Tuning is your best option.
