Default Curious-what are your oil/coolant temps?

I know it doesn't make a huge difference with short autox runs, but what is everyone seeing as far oil and coolant temps at autox? I have the stock gauge pack in my 02 and at my most recent cone dodging session, I saw temps just below 100 degrees Celsius on a very very hot afternoon in New Jersey. Ambient temps were probably in the mid 90s. This is much higher than I've ever seen on the street, where I'll see maybe 90 degrees Celsius on a hot summer day idling in traffic at Lime Rock. As for coolant, I don't yet have a way to measure it beyond the useless cluster gauge.

I see 220-230 oil temp on hot days (except now, the gauge is pegged at 260 even when the car is cold because it is borked). I don't have a non-OE coolant gauge.

Do you have the probe in the drain bolt or at the top of the engine? The temps read higher, and more consistently, in the galley.

I have the OEM drain bolt sensor. Are you talking *F or *C?

F, sorry.

I had it in the drain bolt first and later switched to the galley. The drain bolt is a bad location but better than nothing.
