Hey Dave,

Weds is looking like rain And By friday I may no longer be on the stock turbo only because I see no point buying another one used, it would just blow up with my maps and driving combined Anyway, a new vf turbo I would be confident in, however, 800-1000$. I can spend 850 on the hta68 and have race gas peak power and even more at redline, on pump. One day I will go back to the stock turbo (when I have steady income) and go all out again, but I hope to run one more time weather depending.

I found a way to shave that .01, hahaa. I have taken 100lbs more out of the car and have added that pulley. Should be an 11.8 with usual efforts now

I can't wait to see you on an hta68, your driving will pretty much let me know what will happen with it on my car haha.

Yeah, I want to get back one more time so badly before I do the swap. Im looking forward to the hta as well. Im confident that 11.7-11.8 will be commonplace on pump. I'm also hoping for 11.5 on race. There is little learning curve with the turbo as spool is relative as well as torque.

My first "race" is already set up for my hta68. I will be racing a 2007 built motor sti with hta green and alcohol (425whp). He is a nice kid who always hangs down at the local shop, but Im gonna show him what a 16g can do, hahaha!!

Added! And nice to see you are still hangin around! I still can't get over how fast your car and Mikey's were/are with so few mods. Definitely great driving and tunes. Didn't you have a VF39 on your WRX, post up that info too and I'll add it to the list.

Nice time, added! On 100oct/stock weight too, some race gas or meth and weight reduction could make this car a contender for 11's.

Added! It may be a low trap, but 12.9 with only 104 shows the driving is good!

Thanks Rob, I read his thread and that is a nice time for a drag noob, shows the car is making some nice power. I added his modlist in the appropriate position, but can you edit your post to include his info in the format below.

Screenname/time@speed/track/chassis/turbo/engine/trans/weight/fuel/injection

Also, I need slips/links to slips from all 3 guys above as well. TIA

As crazy a story as it would be, I actually think it is a completely reasonable goal with Junior tuning and your driving. Speaking of crazy, my new goal is to get as close to 11.5 as possible with swapping all my old mods to my new motor + VF43.

So lets catch a 70ish degree june day, line up side by side, and throw matching 11.50's up

There is a kid on these boards, Juan Medina, who is going after Xdrian and Junior's numbers. His car seems fast by 1/8th mile numbers. You and Junior should knock 2 tenths off of Xdrian's time just to make things a bit more challenging

With your driving I would be very excited to see mid 11's, but it wouldnt surprise me with the way you slap the stock 5 speed around

Don't forget Xdrian is putting a vf back on the car to break in the new race motor. The car is also lighter and sporting an AEM.. so I can assure you some lower ETs on the VF will happen.

No info on the motor.. Heads are built, block is built

We did weigh it at the track. The track day after it went 11.60s with the rear seats back in the car it was 298X or 2960... The rear seats don't really weigh anything, but it does make the car look a lot "cleaner". That was what it weighed when it went 10s as well.

When you say 2960 lbs, do you mean with driver or without driver? because if you meant with driver I believe you !

People wanted to see interior shots so i gave them it. All the things that make my car lighter is throwing away all the unnessary brackets, beams, sound deadening,AC etc etc. I can still take a few more pounds. It all the small things that add up.

looking at the pictures and vid, he has front racing seats, no rear seats, no rear seat belts, no sound deading, no child seat hooks, no brackets and beam under the rear seat, no carpet from the front seats, no plastic panels on the rear, no front airbags, light weight steering wheel, carbon fiber trunk etc etc.

Also, I remember him saying that he didn't have any sway-bars, and he had willow brakes. Obviously he had no spare tire and tools, running a quick calculation will put his car at in the 2600 easily and possibly in the mid 2500s. And thats with me being easy on you guys, plus he has a bug eye, and he was using drag radial with lightweight drag racing rims

I have nothing to hide, I posted pics of my car on the scales. My car with me in it, with AC, full interior, rear seat belts etc weights 2970 lbs.

Definitely looking forward to lining up at some point! To be honest, I think it should be pretty easy to get into the 11's with a straightforward swap of everything from my old setup to the new V8 engine + VF43. I figure with the 5MT and 8500 rpm to work with, it should just be finding the right shift points. After I make some consistent passes, I'll look into what I need to do to get closer to 11.5.

Sorry to hear you are having troubles with the new setup, I am looking forward to seeing you make a 1/4 mile pass. Good luck getting it sorted, but at least you have it all in and can track down issues. My engine is stuck at the Canadian border, supposedly pulled off the truck by the EPA for "inspection".

296X or 2980 with driver..Xdrian is about 150lbs. We took a pic on the scales, it was in my phone that fell in the Atlantic.
It had some prodrive 17" wheels BTW and bald BFG drag radials.. Add in the 2.5 sti motor, FMIC, wilwoods with STOCK rotors, METH kit etc..
Anyway, it had what it had, it weighed what it weighed... but most importantly IT RAN THE NUMBER and BACKED IT UP 3 X S OVER on the VF with the stock 07 sti long block, and then went to the track and RAN SOME 10 sec passes on an 18g, probably 10+ 11.0-11.2 passes on Pump+Meth and then made 550whp with a 35r and made some more 10 sec passes at 131+mph... All on the stock motor.. not to mention all the street action... It always drove home even from 2+hrs away after making 10 sec passes..
