Anybody know what size banjo bolts and lines I should use for the turbo coolant lines? I am gonna clock the comp cover but the hardlines are in the way. And what color should I get the cover powdercoated? Wrinkle black or red?

Karl, just keep it for 1 track day, or until you build the trans. We can literally trade turbo's if you would like.

if you dont have smog....and dont have visual....then why would you stay stock location and use a frankensteined gt30......when you could use a real gt30 with a 4" inlet and the correct turbine housing?

I feel the same way , lag is over rated. I say go as big as a 35r no less, we have to push small frame turbos by running a lot of timing and boost to get some good power out them and this is detrimental to engine longevity. + the torque that the small turbo produces kills all the drivetrain components and engine internals.

I planing on going to a EFR 8374 by the end of the year if I can keep my current job ....

a full 04-06 6mt swap is $3500 from millenium auto....07+ gears are $4k when they have them

http://www.y2kimports.com/part-store...product_id=212

ppg's are up to $3750 now for just the gears.....i think around $5k installed

Since when is a transmission and driveshaft a full swap?

OK, so they have the shift linkage in the pic as well, but there's still a lot of odds and ends you'll need, like a decent rear. Once you do the R180, you need the STI rear hubs. Once you do the STI rear hubs, you need Brembo rears. At that point, you might as well get the fronts to match them up. Now, you're right back at 5k, but at least you have a solid rear and good brakes.

you also need the r160 rear diff with the 3.9 R&P and flanged for the sti driveshaft....which they will provide for $400

i have an 06 6mt in my 02wrx....sti driveshaft....r160 flanged for a sti driveshaft

i got my kit from them.....and i have stock wrx axles and 02wrx brakes

Master swap list for 04-07 Sti 6 speed into WRX

I'm familiar with the process and the swap list. I just don't agree with going through all that trouble to keep the R160 and WRX brakes.

and if you do ppg's you end up in the same boat too....except you've spent more money...

im not a diff man.....what exactly does the r180 refer to? once you put the 3.9 gear in a r160 isnt it basically a r180?

are the r160/r180 just names for the casing?

And plenty of people blow up R160s with RSs. Just because a drag car made a full pass on one doesn't make it a good choice for a torquey daily driven car. How many do they go through in 10,000 miles?

$3500 plus $500 for the R160 conversion is $4000. That's $500 less than what I paid for an actual full swap, including all 4 hubs, axles, and Brembos. Add your flavor of aftermarket brakes and now you've spent more. In my eyes, it's worth it to just do the whole thing.

well you got a good deal then....i woulda gone the same route but all the complete kits were 5500-6500 when i was looking....which was considerably more.....and also would have added more labor $ as i wasnt doing the intsall myself.

as for the aftermarket brakes....i just meant pads n rotors not some $2k kit.

if they can be had that cheap...go find karl one

found one $3500....no brakes thoug
