hey all!
this was installed at kpratte's on saturday (for anyone that was still there at the end of the day, i didn't get in that much trouble after i got home and cleaned the apartment, bought flowers, watermelon - wife's favorite, ice cream, and baked 2 blueberry pies) WHHHAAAPPPSSSSHHH- whipped. ne ways, i need an alignment. my steering wheel is about 5 degrees off center but it tracks fairly straight. suspension. i don't know who said that this combo was overdamped...or was it underdamped, i can never get this straight. it feels kinda like a "stiff" stock until you hit some bumps or take a turn, or just slam on the brakes. i do feel more of the bumps driving slowly, but if going over 60mph...then they just disappear. turns are fairly flat, i'm kinda scared that i'll drift thru a corner now, but i'll get used to it soon. and there's less nosedive or noseraise on braking and acceleration. boston roads weren't much worse on this combo than with stock setup, imho. i'm getting mild thump over potholes from the rear strut towers. we torqued them down once, mebbe i'll have to do it again. highways are super smooth, better at high speeds. i'll give it a couple weeks to settle in. question, can any shop do an alignment? or do i have to go to a place that can align and balance AWD/4wd vehicles? overall, it's pretty schweet setup. i guess that's why rallispec recommends this as a daily driver and autocross setup. thumbs up!

Any decent aligment shop can align your car easily. (Subaru's are quite easy to align). The trick is finding a GOOD alignment shop.
Good Luck! -Drew (Pilot) |
