OMGHi2U Which is the lesser of the two evils?

Im currently living in Orange County, lived in southern California almost my entire life, but my father was offered a job recently which would require us to relocate to somewhere in the area of Austin, Texas. He would be making twice as much, and with this economy it seems like a no brainer. Im obviously not the ultimate decision maker, but I would like to know what the hell im getting into if we do happen to move. If there is anywhere that could possibly be worse than SCIC, im pretty sure it's Texas. I would have to buy a gun, and make sure not to mouth off to the wrong looney, and other Texas things..... WWOTD?

IBareyou12?

edit: poll coming

austin is a great town despite the fact that it's surrounded by the rest of texas. relatively cheap cost of living there compared to socal, too. great live music scene, box galore.

You're obviously 12 and wtf is wrong with you? Bashing SCIC? I've lived here most of my life and love it and before you retort I've lived in different parts of the country and abroad and still love San Diego the most with IV being a close second. You know there is more that just the OC in southern California right? This relocation is going to kick some sense into your head.

I've been all though every part of California, so yes im aware there is life outside the OC. If I was living in San Diego I wouldn't be complaining as much. I spend my summers in Del Mar and I love it. San Diego has more culture and there is tons more to do. Orange County is becoming a drag, and im getting tired of the unrealist views of the world that everyone here seems to posess. Sure it's a nice place to live, but it gets rather boring and monotonous at times.

There is more to California than SCIC. Northern California is really nice.

All of Texas, however, is still Texas. I would rather live in Lebanon.

You forgot:
Cali - Communism, hippies.

Texas - Lifted pickups, rednecks
