Default How the deuce did this happen

So bobby and I are cruising to In and out for some burgers after putting my recaro seats in and setting up the suspension for the cali trip. We hear a weird whine comming from the engine and then the next second the whole timing set exploded onto the road. Now we are confused as **** as to what caused it since we didnt do anything under the timing covers when we swapped the motor, all we did was swap over the turbo and clutch assembly's and im assuming the whole motor is trashed....again since the intake cam moves 360 degrees freely.

if the cam moves 360 around i would say that head is Fed

My guess would be the timing belt tensioner went bad or one of the idler pullys broke, i would geess more on the pully as i have seen the bearing break on the bottom pass side idler

yeah the whine most likely woulda been a bad idler, but the thing is, it usually will whine for a little while before letting the dogs out. how many miles did the car have?? 90k+

and did the motor u just put in come with a warranty?

personally id blame bobby.

You might be alright my timing belt broke and shredded some of the gears but all was ok just needed a new timing belt and it was back on the road, so don't assume the motor is gone.
