Silver STi swap 380wph!!

Default Stock Coolant temp gauge in 04' STi cluster not working

So i just installed my used 04' STi cluster into my 2002 Bugeye. i followed the couple threads on what wires to cut and the plug to file down that are here on nasioc.
Everything went well when i start up the car all gauges do the sweep like normal but after my car warms up to operating temp it does not register on the gauge, i know its warm since i drove it around and checked the coolant hoses and they are hot, i know that it should be warm but it is not shown.

So i plug my old cluster, coolant temp works and the needle is sitting where it is supposed to be. So does anyone know whats wrong with my cluster? anyone else with this problem ever.

Also my fuel gauge wont go to the full line, im used to it sitting just above when i fill my car, i even went and topped up my tank till it was nearly overflowing and it sits just a needle width or so below the full line.

Anyone with some imput thanks

I would suspect that sensors are different resistances for both the temp and the fuel level so they aren't calibrated to the newer gauges. You can easily try replacing the coolant sensor from a '04 model I would think. The fuel sensors may be more difficult and expensive to replace.

Never top off your tank as it will damage the charcoal filter.
