Default Camp LeJeune Car Show!!

Would anyone want to have or help put on a car show on base? I was thinkin of going to MCCS and the Single Marine Program and see what they could help out with, if there was enough interest to help out i would pursue the idea. Some other ideas would be to help the Wounded Warriors program or somthing along those lines. The goal would be to have as many cars, trucks and whatever else on wheels to attend. I would also contact some other clubs i.e vette clubs, classic cars, bikes etc. to get help or interest from them as well. Target date would be Sept./ Oct. time frame if you have any ideas or "Hook-ups" send'em!!

I would definitely be interested. What about combining this with some sort of autocross/drag race event? I know a lot of motorcycle club racers who might be interested in this also.

Yeah, right now i really want to know if i could get some kind of "BACKING" with this from the forums, because i know when i propose it to MCCS on base they are gonna want to know who is going to help, the other sponsors, show layout, est. attendence, vendors etc. im not gonna (cant) do it on my own, im gonna need some help and thats what im tryin to get here, as many people as i can to help with all the foot work. Trying to gauge interest. So far it doesnt look to good.

Timmy - Lemme know if I can help you do anything! I think the Single Marine program may sponsor a show on base now. Last year there was a car show the same day as our autocross and I think it was the single marine program. Not sure but anyway - Im in however you need help.

Suggestion -- have the car show on a Saturday before our autocross? Talk to Walt Driver (left hand drive blue with white stripe Miata) tomorrow at the autocross. He is pretty well connected and should be able to give you some advice on any events.

What about doing a non points autocross and having spectators donate money in exchange for ridealongs?
