eBay... best way to pay for an item other than PayPal?

So what's the best way to pay for something purchased on eBay?
Not a fan of PayPal, but I'll use it if there are no other good ways to send money.

Money transfer? Paypal? Other?

Oh, and most people there use Paypal. Others might accept money order/cashiers check.

If they are storefront/mega users some can accomodate using CC's straightaway. Ebay doesn't open that avenue but some of the sellers use marketplace by auctiva or other 3rd party sites that can process CC's.

Yeah, this seller was mentioning PayPal (the usual) and then mentioned e-transfer, but that sounds even less "safe" than PayPal, unless I am not understanding the concept of e-transfer correctly.
