Default X-post: WRX off-road footage and pictures

Just some random footage from Monday while out taking a drive with the lady in the Stampede area and seeing what gopro locations work, didnt plan on making a vid with it but it worked. This is a man made lake up north from Lake Tahoe with access roads that wrap all around. In the winter we snowmobile on them sometimes when avy danger up in the steep is too high. After doing something like 70 miles of loops and stuff out there we called it a day and hosed the car down for some new shots. The KDWs dont do so great with lateral grip in the gravel, on hard pack they rock, silt... not so much. Had a few hairy spots but all in all the car did great and the GF even got it crossed up a few times.

There is all sorts of wrong with that.

First, on the paved sections you were well over the double yellow line on corners. I'm not sure how good the visibility was but the general rule-of-thumbs is when driving on an open road keep it in your own lane.

Second, as PM noted, what would you have done if another car, and ATV or a pedestrian was also on the road?

Third, if you crashed into those trees without a roll cage you would have been dead, or at least severely injured. How long would it have been before someone else came along and found you?

We say this because we care (about the reputation of Subaru's and rallying)

And lastly, a gravel road is a road. Off roading does not mean driving on gravel roads. It means going beyond the gravel roads into the mud and dirt trails.

i don't care for your rims, your taste in imprezas, your taste in music, or your willingness to jump a double yellow line

Oh yeah, and I'd say I hope you die in a horrible crash, but it's when douchebags like you do that it makes it worse for the rest of us

So instead I'll just say that I hope you get cancer.

Who the hell sticks to the double yellows on a twisty road when you can see through the corner?

Seems like an awful lot of internet blow-hards have let go of their dicks for long enough to type some bile. Get back in your cubicles!

Not to mention that is the weakest "off-roading" I've ever seen. It would be no issue traversing those roads in my open diff Mustang.

Effing thank you. You don't own a Jeep and you're not "off-roading". Yore driving up a damn gravel covered road - yes, it has gravel on it, but it's a road just the same. You're not rock crawling on the Moab Trail.

I'm pretty sure even my lowly Civic would have no problems with his brand of "off-roading".

2-laners suck.

The gravel video looked like it was sped to make you look fast.
