Thumbs up Installed scooby sport turbo back and up pipe

I just got my car back after gettin the my turbo back and uppipe installed.

The car feels very different. No lag, the car pulls much smoother. But you can't feel the sudden rush when turbo spools up from the extreme lag anymore. Overall it feels much lighter, which is good

Sound, it is not loud at all! I was way quieter than I thought it would be. On highway cruisin you don't hear the exhaust droning even with windows down. It has a deep raspy tone, definitely very mean. like gggrrrrr

I'm gonna enjoy my WRX now wooo hoo

Which turbo back/uppipe did you end up getting??

(Sorry, but I'm a scooby n00b, and couldn't figure out what you meant by scooby sport)

Thanks!

/<

PS. Did you just take it to Meinike (sp?) or a regular garage?

How long did it take/price?? (I know this question has been answered elsewhere, but wanted yet another account!)

scooby sport is the brand of the exhaust
I took it to a guy that I know. I got both turbo back and up pipe installed. It takes about 5 hours to install.

Hey Silver, I just installed a BPM turbo back last week, I want to meet up sometime so that I can hear the difference between the two. Your shiit will get louder as the days go by, I've always heard your shiit has to break in before you really hear it, but now I know its true.

Ok - I'll try and redeem myself now that I'm a little bit more edjumacated...

Silver - Getting the turbo-back and upipe installed, I would then assume that you got the catless installtion -- am I correct on that?

Does TX not require that stuff for emissions? (I'm not trying to see if you're doing anything illegal - i was just curious!)

thx

cirruswrx--I'm not catless, I left the third cat in there so I can still pass emission.

Greg--Whenever you wanna meet up. I think blackwrx127 wanna meet up too. I guess we can meet up this friday at WHS.

pylorn--it cost me 1300 with cel fix shipped. I got the UP,DP, muffler and rear center section. Yeah it is quite pricey, but I love it though...You damn right you better love it!!!

I just ordered mine, UP, DP, Center forward section and muffler. They said they are having issues with the center rear section fitting proprly and that it is about an inch to long.
Anyway my question for SilverWRX02 is DID you order new bolts for the uppipe, and also did you reuse the gasket or order a new one? If you ordered them do you still have the part #s handy?

Thanks
Cant wait for my exhaust.

Later Dave

Also wanted to say Rally Performance was a pleasure to order from and got in touch with someone right away. Thanks Rally..

If I could I would...

I didn't have to get any bolts or anything extra. The fitting is fine.

I was told that the SS UP does not come with any studs, and you have to either get new ones or extract your old ones for it to stay on. ?? Do you know what they did when they installed it?

Thanks
Dave

Talking Exhaust

I have the SS turbo-back too and I love it. I have a stage 0, so I have Shiv's uppipe. How do you like the SS uppipe? I really thought that my sound would be a bit louder though. I am running a catless exhaust and it isn't bad at all. Shiv's uppipe came with the studs and also new gaskets. He is the master!!!

Default Hello

Hello all!

Just noticed this thread... glad to see that you like the exhaust, and thanks for the kind words!

If you are buying our system, you may wish to purchase new gaskets and studs from your local Subaru dealer. While we hope to soon be carrying the studs, they aren't in inventory just yet... you can either re-use the old studs, or use bolts in a pinch if you need to... but the small cost for the studs likely outweighs the time required to extract the old ones.

When you receive your system, you may want to go the the hardware store and pick out a few extra stainless bolts and nuts to have on hand as well.

An uppipe isn't exactly a simple install... it's nice to have someone else do that one for you

You've already noticed one of the nice things about the design - the ability to leave the third factory cat in place if you like. The factory cat is quite reliable compared to aftermarket, you dont lose too much from that third cat... and you can save 160 bucks or so by not buying that particular pipe. OR, you can have the pipe around and bolt in the de-catted pipe when you go to the track (please check local laws...)

Regards,
KC
