I will most likely bring my truck out. If you can find a trailer I can tow it if you break.

As in less power or more? Does it squeal the whole time or does it get louder when you depress the clutch?

And does anyone have torque specs for upper strut bolts and lower mounting bolts front and rear?
I found some on club wrx and just want to cross check for validity.

Are you talking about the nut on the strut top? I think they are 14.5 ft/lbs. The diagram I have shows the lower front bolts as 112 ft/lbs. Not sure on the rear, I only have a diagram for the Legacy.

Yeah the strut towers I see are between 13.5-14.5lb. and then the lower bolts that connect to the hub I saw on an 02 wrx they said were at 129lb. Can't wait to free those up without an impact

Hey jesse must have been a different red rex, my car and i were at BSU from 8 30 till 2 30. Maybe the wagon had more done than you thought, or was running more boost. Maybe someone else could chime in on the clutch squeal, I've never had to replace one.

Yeah I definitely have the PB blaster and breaker bar ready.

Jesse you're going to bite the bullet? Pretty close to same car you had last week, except less trunk space, less dents, stock, and pretty close to the same price with clean title. Sounds like a good deal haha.

So I went to drive the car.it whines when its in gear when accelerating. The more I step on it the louder it gets then ill take it out of gear. And. The whinnning continues. It gets softer as the speed drops. But when its in Gear The whinningis softer when decelerating

Anyone know how to check oil pressure on a 97 2.5NA engine? Search function is down and I'm getting nowhere on the legacy specific sites.

Sounds trans/diff related, does it sound like gear whine or other? Maybe it has straight cuts

Could be CV joints as well. Did you look under the car for any obvious oil leaks or grease?

Do you have an oil pressure guage? There are a couple of oil galley plugs that you can use on the top of the engine. You will need an adapter. The plugs are M18x1.5. You may also need some hose depending on who big your gauge or sending unit is.

I have a guage but it's for std fittings, looks like I'll need an adapter, thanks Jeff!
