PS. Oct 9th sounds good. As long as my wife doesn't go into labor, it'd be fun to chat cars with you guys again.
Municipal park is the place?
2:00PM?
Can I bring a friend (with a black '07 MS3)?

Sure, as long as he does not park next our subies.... J/k

So, I can bring the charcol and lighter fluid. Are we going to BYOMeat, or what does everyone want to do?

I plan on bringing my wife and kids too.

No. Nothing in the STI drivetrain makes more noise then a WRX. STI's had a strut clunk going over bumps. Other then that there are no unusual noises an STI has over a WRX. A WRX can make more trans noise then the STI. There's a thread about WRX deceleration noise from the 5mt, I've had two WRX's with this issue.

Where does the clunk come from? If it is in the front middle check the pitch stop mount under the intercooler. Also since you describe it as a on/off throttle noise, if something is wrong (not saying there is), you should be looking at everything that would have a forward/back motion. Engine mounts, trans mount, exhaust, rear diff mounts, rear subframe, trailing arms, lateral links. I'm just throwing out there everything I've seen in my experience that has made a noise issue from on/off throttle. One of the last cars I worked on was a WRX with a 6 speed/r180 diff swap, and whoever did the swap never tightened down the rear sunbframe bolts. You never know what moron worked on your car and didn't do a thorough job.

Yeah byomeat sounds like the best idea to me, wakeabyss said he would bring fluid and briquettes, since I will be there for sure I suppose I can pick up some paper plates and some plastic knives/forks. Do they allow alcohol at municipal? I'd like to bring a couple beers for myself

I think they do allow alcohol. If it's not, it should be posted on signs.

I may know a thing or two about large amounts of alcohol and city parks considering I put on a 4-keg kickball game 2-3 times a year at Ann Morrison. In a Boise City park you can possess up to 7.5 gallons of beer or wine (just under a keg) without requiring a permit (permits cost ~$10 for basically an unlimited amount). You have to drink out of cans, or plastic cups/bottles, no glass containers.

Keeping in mind the designation of "Boise City Park" almost requires a gps, map and a sherpa guide. Just because you think you're standing in the park, might not mean you actually are in the park. No sidewalks, greenbelts, bathrooms, grass areas along the river etc.. You pretty much have to be on the grass, away from the street/sidewalk/playground/etc.

I know it was mentioned that there will be families joining the get together. I had considered bringing mine along as well. If this is going to be a family-friendly event, might I suggest we veto alchohol (unless your car runs on it!) just to keep things simple?

Also, I know its been said, but what are the times for the meet, starting and ending when?

Aw ray you're a party pooper lol jk. When I mentioned alcohol I meant like a couple tallboys of mikes hard lemonade, I DO still have to drive home from this thing lol. That's ok though, I'm just as good with a 1liter pop.

Ok so what I've gathered is it's gonna start at 2pm(no real end time), municipal park, byomeat, wakeabyss is bringing the charcoal/lighter fluid, I'll bring paper plates/utensils.
How many people are actually planning on showing? Should someone bring some bags of chips or potato salad or anything thats good with steaks or are sides a bring-your-own as well?

To bad we can't all pack up and caravan down to Subiefest instead of the BBQ. I'll see everyone at the BBQ at 2pm.

Rexorama the noises i hear sound like they are more from the front to mid area of the car. Just at low speeds like when I'm in a line at a stop sign doing the clutch, gas, brake routine.

IMS just did one on a Sunday, no? I think it's because most of the guys were more available on Saturday. Sorry bud.
