I just swapped an 04 sti gauge cluster into my 02 wrx. I cut the wire for the buzzer and, I also cut the wire that makes your fuse blow over and over. The problem I'm having now is that my gas gauge and engine temp gauge are not working at all if anyone can help that would be great.
thanks

The B harness of the cluster has nothing to do with that side of the cluster.
Which wires exactly did you cut? The wire for the buzzer is the same as the radio fuse blower. |

I must have an 05 cluster then because the wire that is the buzzer and the wire that blows the fuse are two completely different wires...

In the middle cluster is the yellow w/green tracer...I might be wrong but that one controls the buzzer but in turn blows fuses. Cause as soon as i cut the B28 wire I wasn't blowing fuses but I had no buzzer.
Some say you have to cut an additional on the right hand harness. A9. Forgot what color/trace it is though |

Are you sure it wasn't a pre existing problem before the cluster swap?
That's strange... |

I'm not knowledgeable on motherboards/circuits. But I would take the back off and see if there are cracks/breaks etc...
Definitely sounds like a problem with the cluster now...which sucks. They are expensive |

I had the same issue. See if you can play the needle up and down for the fuel and temp gauge. Same issue happened to me when I was putting tape behind the dccd and diff light.

So on yours, the needle wasn't clicked down all the way?

When my cluster was acting up, my gas gauge and temp sensor was stuck and it wont even do the sweeping motion. All I did was move the gas needle from empty to full and back and i did the same thing to the temp sensor. Move it from hot to cold and back. I reinstalled it and bam! The gauges swept like it meant to be.

You probably slightly dislodged the needles when you were taping over the DCCD light. Same thing happened to me with the gas light a week ago. I was able to press it back in and the next time I started it, it swept and was reading properly.

the thing is, my needles still sweep, my gas gauge is now all the way at the top, my engine temp gauge doesnt work, when I turn on my left turn signal it doesnt blink on my cluster and Im pretty sure the little light for my brights is always on in the cluster too

Hmmm...if everything worked before, sounds like a definite cluster problem.
