my father and family are a victim of this. grrr

sucks man. seems to be becoming the norm now. so far no layoffs at Verizon, but time will tell i guess (although we are said to be "recession proof").

I got moved from a fab that was relocating overseas into another fab. Now this fab is closing and moving overseas. So first I lost my job to a Czech and now I am losing it to Malaysian all in the span of a year. I have through the rest of this year if I am lucky. My mother was let go in February and my brother should make it through the rest of the year as well. I am tired of this s***.

I've survived 13 rounds of layoffs in the last year where I work (large automotive supplier). Nearly 50 engineers to 10. I can't imagine I'll be this lucky for much longer.

It's rough out there... and it's only going to get rougher.

dobson and price area. yeah, there are 3 fabs there. lots of people were affected by this random act. everyone is on the chopping block, after my manager is done with us, he gets his review on friday. he is in the same boat as the rest of us

I made it through this round over here at the Intel on Chandler Blvd. My wife found out last night that she has also made it past this round over at Fab32 on Queen creek. We're lucky this time....Good luck to you Victor!! At least your experience should help you out a bit..Are you related to a woman named Chantel? I work with her & she told me she had a relative get laid off. Oops, i mean "redeployed".

I work in some labs where we test environmental stresses on our chips. Things like heat, cold & humidity and how they impact the chip performance during shipping & storage.

Sorry about the news, sucks bro ! This econimy is even more reason for me to re-enlist in the army . Damm where am I going to find another 60k job in this financial mess we are in .

It's at Dobson/Ocotillo. That is why the Fab is called "Ocotillo" because it is in the Ocotillo part of Chandler. The lay offs have been in the works for the last 6-8 months. They were not random. They were planned. Don't want to lose your job, make sure you are not in the bottom half when ratings come around.

planned yes, random yes. there is no rhime or reason why some people were let go. they have squeaky clean records and were let go. people who had safety write ups didn't loose there job, and others who were doing just fine were given the worst excuse to be fired. and yes i know this for a fact, i had someone who i trained who was let go and i know his complete history at in-hell. some people who should have gone didn't and some people who should not have did. it sucked no matter what
