My favorite thing about Danica Patrick is the commercial she has on TV right now where she says something to the effect of "I've been doing this for 17 years, I've earned the right to be respected!"

No, pretty much you threw all of the respect you've ever earned right out the window when you started doing slutty commercials and magazine spreads, honey. Good luck ever being respected by your fellow drivers.

I used this as a perfect example for my girlfriend WHY professional racing is so difficult. She pretty much ran as perfect a race as she could have hoped for other than that, and missing a mark by 5 or so feet cost her any hope of a better position.

At least her pit crew didn't light her on fire. Talk about a bad day. Coming back from having your pit crew set you on fire, then getting nudged into the wall and ending up in the hospital.

The thing is, she's actually gotten to the point where, at least in the IRL, her talent can sort of speak for itself.
