Default Philly Cheesesteak Run 4: Jim's Steaks, June 28th

Howdy,
If you missed it before, don't miss it this time. Going to be running to grab some cheesesteaks to start off the summer cruise to AC! Come down to Philly for a fantastic lunch and then hop on the caravan with us down to the top of AC's Tropicana. Then perhaps hooters there or gambling and boozin and return whenever.

This cheesesteak run will be to Jim's Steaks, June 28th @ 12:30pm and leave round 2 to meetup with the Farley rest stop, and then GSP dudes at the last toll between 2:30 and 3pm.

Few things to know: 1. Difficulty of run will be 8/10 be ready to drive downtown Philly. 2. Quality of cheesesteak and ingredients should be 9 or 10/10, this is my favorite place in Philly. 3. There will most likely be a $5-10 parking lot fee @ the nearest ez-park if ppl want to park together. I can do street parking for meter/free but if there are more than 10 cars comin we should all park together.

Other than that bust out your Garmin, hot sauce, philly lingo, and come on out!! I have a CB and my car is up and running again so see yas there for steaks and a cruise to AC after!! (Please reference Sal's [04wagon@stg2] page for the rest of the itinerary for cruise to Atlantic City.)

When: June 28th

Time: 12:30pm

Where: Jim's Steaks @ 4th and South (Parking $7 @ EZ-Park: 419 Bainbridge St. Philadelphia PA 19147)

Don't be scared of driving, come on out! Holler
-M

#3 for ref: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=1614555

Itinerary:

12/12:30 - Arrive at Jim's ($7 @ ez park)

12:30/1pm - eat ($8/9 for steak and soda)

1:30 - Leave Jim's for AC

3/3:30pm arrive at AC rest stop meet up with NNJ guys and drive into Trop! (The Quarter Garage)

5:00 - Dinner @ PFC

7/8? - Drunk/gambling?

Is this the place right near Penn's Landing? If it's on Sunday I'm definitely down. Gary's birthday is that weekend isn't it?

Ok so this isn't the place sort of right across that bridge from Columbus Blvd and the River Rink? I must be thinking of somewhere else.

I'm down either way. And the Gary's birthday thing is a joke.

Ok yea it is where I am thinking of on South Street. Maybe not exactly though... here is the google map link if you wanna put it in the first post brotha.

What about the Jim's at Roosevelt Mall? Their wiz wit, IMHO, is better than Pat's or Geno's, plus abundant free parking.

I will definitely consider this one for next time... until then I would love to get everyone to hit this Jim's RIGHT downtown on southstreet imo the most bangin steak, cheese(s) and fresh onions in town. This one is worth it for the steak, maybe next time for that one it's mad far north and we can just hop the ben franklin afterward and head ac expy. I would estimate only ~$15 for parking and tolls for the whole day.

dood jims is a bad choice in my opinion. its a meet with ish for parking first off, not to mention my car getting dented up...and steves steaks were much better. i wasn't too impressed with jims personally in my 15 years of patronage. there are better philly steak shops.

what about a different location? or is your heart set on south streets madness?

either way dood you know i'm down for your meet.

max don't hate, and don't be afraid of a little city driving! You have a parking lot designated and I'm working on the group rate so the more ppl the less you have to pay to park for 2 hrs!

Also it will be much better for our launch to AC as the BF bridge is merely 6-8 blocks away!

Bump come eat MY personal favorite steak in the schitty!

Bump, working on group nasioc rate with parking lot, need more people for a cheaper/safer more central location! 1.5 blocks from Jim's!

^ ^ ^ ^

How come previous steak runs never had these perks? That's cool for Jim's to be that negotiable.

Pete Jim's is not the owner of the lot, but I am talking with the company on setting up a special event/group price. The past runs weren't really true cheesesteaks as I wouldn't even consider pats/genos to be good at all! Who else, 20 peeps and we get $ off parking!!

Think you can swing a deal like this for the pre-48 meetup? That would motivate me to start the 48 from Philly instead of SoA HQ.
