Default The American public would love euro rallycross

It's wheel to wheel, it's got carnage, and now that the USA is generally aware of drifting and rally they'll love the sliding. Further more, it can be spectated in an arena.

Maybe someone should try piggy backing a euro rallycross race with a monster truck bash.

C'mon, what's not to like? Even for people who don't racing technicals?

EDIT: Moar!!!

The American public would not like Euro rallycross. Main reason? It's European.

People are f*cking retarded, though. That looks awesome.

We just gotta call it something else. Like "soccer" or something.

Nonono that would be a bad idea. Call it "NASCAR-rally"

I think the American public would like something like that. GC Rally X did a Demo last year during a rally X. It involved about 6 full rally prepped Subaru's on a closed course. there was a 100 ft jump, some banked turns, whoopty dos and whopty don'ts. It was not like a European rally cross but more of a style of the old CORR stuff.
We are web scenced here at work FTL but i hope those links work
Peace out,

We had a stock car track lined up as a tentative RallyX venue until we went to visit the owner to talk about the details and he realized North American RallyX is different than European RallyX. He was only interested in hosting the event if he could sell tickets to spectators.

Look for the stands in a Euro rally cross. Are they positioned where fans can see every crash? No so no go in US.

X-Games is fairly close to Euro Rally-x...

No Co-driver (check)
A less restricted Rally car ~basically~ (check)
Stadium (check)
Audience to see the carnage (check)
Cars bouncing off each other (check)

I'd say in a year or two, it most likely won't be any different...

And, to me, that's not a bad thing AS LONG AS THEY CALL THE X-GAMES EVENT A RALLYCROSS.

When I watch this all I think about is a baby rally car who wandered away from the pack, innocently chilln by a nice stretch of long winding open dirt road and then all of a sudden a car cover is thrown over it from behind it is thrown on a flat-bed and toed away. Waking up in a motor-oil splattered circus like arena where it has to drive with other stolen rally cars, to appease a bunch of short angry people speaking a language that sounds like a bear getting sick in the woods. Its sad, could definitely be a movie!

Euro rallycross is not exactly new...the Romans had their own version of it, something to do with a fairly large public facility they called a 'stadium,' with chariots, gladiators, christians, lions, etc.

And the sky is blue.

I just wish it could take off in the USA so I don't have to watch crappy clips on youtube.

They do have a very similar kind of racing in North America, except they use specially modified trucks and buggies (CORR). All you'd need to do is create a new class for productions cars.

. . . . and it's not really rallying. Rallying is one car against the road. When two or more cars are fighting to be the first one across the finish line it's a race not a rally.

That's why the cross is added to the end.
