Default Help! problem with HID install please...

I purchased an HID kit and before anyone yells at me that I shouldn't use an hid kit with my car, I'm not looking for criticism so please let me be! Anyway I hooked up and the color coded wires to their same color corresponding wires and when I turn my car on nothing happens... I can't imagine I've hooked up anything wrong, anyone have any ideas??

Here's a pic of my configuration:

Did you check all the connections for a lose one?

Kinda looks like the black old wire is hooked up with the red new one..or are my eyes messing with me?

Yea I checked all the connections and even tried both ballasts and bulbs and yea red is on red and black is on black it's just hard to tell since they're so close together. Should they still come on even though I have my headlights already in the on position when I start my car?

you need to use a relay harness.

what you did is a very simple way to melt wires and burn up your stock wiring. the load that the ballast require at startup is much too great for subaru's system to handle.

check the connectors also.... you might have put the connector going into the ballast upside down....

+1 i have a relay harness on mine. you really should use one. it will save your stock wiring from anything that might happen.

Thats what fuses are for. Unless the fuses are the slowest blowing things in the world, they should protect you from any forseable problems.

Shoould is the key word there. **** happens, and we're simply trying to protect a fellow enthusiest car.

With that said, I seem to remember grounding the ballast to the chasis and hooking the stock ground back up to the stock location IE: Inside the headlight. I remember having trouble the first time i hooked HID's up with the rex, but keep messing with it and it will work, and if not well i guess you should take that as a sign that the HID god himself doesn't want you to have HID's in a reflector housing...
