Default Hankook Ventus v4 es

Searched to see opinions people had on these high performance all season tires. I have had my eye on them for quite some time. Who has ran these tires and how did you like them? Also what size did you use? The size of tires I have now are 215/55/16.

Thanks

Pssst... hes got an 02WRX on 16's.
205/55 is the stock ratio.
225/50 is better, but slightly bulged on a the stock 6.5" rim.

but yah, that tire is caca. They are on my rally cars stock wheels and they suck!

Never had a problem with mine - driven them in just about every condition with no issues. I have them in the 225/50 flavor on 03 wrx rims (16x6.5 for those who don't know) and they're really not too bulgy.

I think I paid just about $400 out the door at Pep Boys, including mounting and balancing. I've never had them slip or lose traction, even during relatively hard cornering. No problems in the snow, though some reviews suggested otherwise. I've hydroplaned a bit in deep water on the 101, but I don't believe the tires were entirely at fault. There is a bit of road noise, but nothing my crappy muffler can't hide.

Overall, I'd give them an 8 out of 10 - especially considering their low price. I'm at 30k+ on them and it looks like I have about 50-60% of the tread left on them. Would purchase again. I'd like to know what 'DiscoGsus' thinks about them beyond "they suck" - that's not very definitive.

These are the v4 es hankook ventus tires correct? How long ago did you buy them?

Overall, I'd give them a 4 or 5 out of 10. And that is considering their low price.
At the lower pricepoint a lot of tires are good at one thing or another. I live in VA with lots of rain and these tires are not fun in wet/damp conditions.
Dry they are ok, they are relatively quiet. But any kind of precipitation (rain and occasionally snow) they just don't hold up.

Running these in the dry and pushing them is an exercise in futility. There limits are pretty low, and at least in my car they are not progressive at the limit of their traction.
They have worn pretty well, and they survived a rallyX, so those are good things.

I would probably try something like the BF Goodrich equivalent, Kumho ASX/AST, or pony up the $$ for Toyo Proxes 4 before I buy these.

Great tire for the $$$
Not a really a performance tire by any means but it rides really smooth and very little road noise

i'm looking for just a decent all season tire, and I hear that these do better in the snow than most uhp tires.
