Default Questions about 06 fog bulb.

i was considering to get some H3 selective-yello fog bulb, and i search on ebay.
tons of those HID fog lamps poped out.
now the question is, are they the same as the regular yellow bulb.
if i put em on, do i need a whole set up of it or i just have to put the bulb on.
thanks

The HID's are a different bulb. They are a LOT brigher but don't work well in regular incandescent bulb headlights because they don't "project" correctly. Instead of pointing where the light should, it just goes all over the place, blinds other drivers, and generally doesn't help your view much either.

To answer your question though, if the HID kit is an H3 bulb size, it will fit in the existing fog light fixture, you will just need to wire in a ballast in addition to the HID bulb.

They do have regular H3 yellow bulbs... there are many places to get them and there are various levels of quality. Also, it would be best to stay with 55 watt bulbs because any more will likely melt the wiring in Subarus. A couple places I know where to get them are:

The "Yellow Star" bulbs are fairly well regarded from what I understand

They are also available here (where I got the yellow H3's for my car)
