Default Td-04 Hybrid

Hey guys, i don't post on here much, but i wanted to just put my numbers out there i guess

I blew my engine a few months ago so i went with a hybrid build on a hardly modded bugeye and made 221 whp and 265 wtq on a safe 93 oct. tune

Engine:
EJ257 Shortblock
Stock EJ205 Heads
Forged Pistons
Stock TD-04 turbo
SPT Intake
Hks Carbon-Ti Catback Exhaust
Stock injectors/Fuel Pump
Stock TMIC
Stock DP

Future Mods:
Invidia V2/3 DP
FMIC (not decided which one yet)
DW 750cc injectors
Walbro fuel pump
Undecided between turbos (looking through the whole range of 16g-20g and even thinking about going green)
(if i do happen to go green then ill eventually need a new transmission so thats still a while away)

so what do u guys think?

What are you going to be doing with the car? Do you want high numbers and no low end? A 18g would mate with that greatly. You would see some great mid 300 numbers with that set up. And a good flat powerband starting around 3500ish.

And as far as gears go look at the mfactory gear set 1-4. Running around 2800 for a full set.

a hybrid td04 with an upgraded clipped wheel in ported/polished housings would be an ultra responsive, decent HP'd car... would be a great auto X and fun if you wanted to do a little drag

btw, constantino... im in jax FL, where are you?

skip the 16/18G's and get the forced peformance HTA68 if you decide to go that route... personally... i would love to build a hybrid td04... mainly for the 2.0ltr guys but on the 2.5 if you be even more fun...

what are the differences in price/performance with the HTA68 and the 16 and 18Gs? what about the upgraded td04?

Yeah eventually i'll track the car when i get a new car next year, but for now its just my DD and would probably like to be making about 350whp, but even there im scared about my transmission

im in palm beach for those who were asking btw

Before you go making an assumption on the new HTA68 read more into it...so far Im not that impressed, and its just a revamped 16g with a new wheel. Granted if hes not looking for high hp numbers and very fast response, then yes possibly the hta68, but if hes looking for higher numbers with the option of giving up some spool, the 18g^8cm is a proven application.

I'd probably skip a modified TD04. Dosnt matter how much you polish a turd...

Looks like you have a nice bottom end, why not get the EJ205 heads worked or search for some used, good condition EJ257 heads? I'd get the motor to where it needs to be to take advantage of any turbo upgrade you bolt-on before selecting a turbo.

what pistons did you go with? Nice numbers with so little mods. How many miles on your bugeye tranny?
