Default 09 sti wheels on an 09 wrx

do the wheels/tires fit from an 09 sti into a regular wrx?

i was thinking of changing from stock to the sti wheels

I think you are wrong. All of them, 2.5i WRX, and STI are 5 x 100... Try the service manual for more info...

No, I think you are wrong. The only USDM STi to have a 5x100 bolt pattern is the 2004. After that, they were changed to 5x114.3 while the WRX and the 2.5i stayed with 5x100.

from what i found looking, it seems that the STIs are all pretty much 5x114

There is only one correct answer here. It is, no. The 2004 STi had the 5x100. It was the only year. That is why that BBS wheels from it are so sought after. From 2005 on EVERY STi made for USDM was 5x114. There is no way to make those wheels fit a WRX or 2.5i unless you hub-swap to 5x114 from 5x100.
