There should be a green connector (I think) unplugged under there. This is the test connector that puts the car into diagnostic mode an allows you to read/write to the computer. Normally it is disconnected. Got some pictures of what we're dealing with?

I dont have any pictures right off hand but i can definitely post some. Does the green connector have 2 wires going to it? I think i tried to plug those together and the CEL went nuts (whoops). There is also a clear(ish) 4-pin plug. I untapped a bunch of stuff and the two 4 pin connectors (male and female) just have 2 (maybe 3) of the wires looped from each other.

Look for one on ebay for 15 bucks in a .pdf form. You really can't go wrong as you'll use the FSM over and over. It's a good thing to have.

yea the stealership wants $110 an hour just to look. I was kinda hoping I could offer someone a beer or two and have them show me. Im not really looking for security, I just wanna use the keyless entry since my $4k gem also came with a broken key in the driver door

thank you.

The fob came with instructions on how to program it. It wont program and i believe the reason is unplugged stuff.

where are you located? I can't say I can fix it, but I can take a look at it.

on my old '00 RS I had to use a screw driver to get the contacts on the back of the stock 'valet button' to actually connect. That was all it took for me, it was weird the first time I did it...and still took me a while to figure out
