Default Annoying clunking coming from the from of the car (please help!!)

^^^^^^Haha, front of the car. I used the comp out in the shop with oil and greese all over it so it was hard to type.

Hey guys. Im at my father's shop right now trying to figure out whats going on with my car.

There is a weird clunking, almost like someone is making a fist and knocking on the firewall. It literally sounds exactly like that. I can not find anything loose. Motor mounts are fine. Tranny mount seems to be fine as well. Its a really annoying problem. I figure the guys who have 50k plus on a car they track could possibly have the same problem? Had the same problem with my 04 but one day after about 10k worth of driving it kinda just disappeared....

Any imput would be great. The car shifts as it normally does and launches great with little to no banging. I really only hear the noise starting off in first gear from a stop (normal everyday driving light to light).

Thanks guys,

-Mikey

It sounds suspension related. When the clunk happens do you feel a vibration in the car?

might sound dumb but check the torque on your lugnuts, my little brother had a similar clunk and two lugnuts were loose as hell

I had a clunk like that and re-aligning my rear springs fixed the problem.

have you figured this out yet?

it could be the front control arm bushings especially if they're aftermarket or the bolt may not be tight enough. you can't really tell if they're loose just by "shaking it down" you need to use a pry bar to see if you can move it back and forth.
