How much are you looking to spend? I have very little desire to do electric racing anymore unless it is some sort of "spec" class.

OCRC looks like a decent track, but I have not checked it out yet. I heard today they have an onroad track too. If you want to hear men cry and whine like 5 year olds, go do electric on road racing.

Stan and I will be practicing up at Revelation in Montclair this weekend. Let me know if you want to come check it out.
Yeah, I didn't like the 1/10 sedan class, they did whine a lot. I do like the 1/12 4 cell though. A LOT.

Slash does look fun, if you guys want to get into the slash class, I would be totally down for it.

p.s. actually the associated version looks better, can they run in the slash class?

That I don't know, I will have to find out. I'd be down for either car as they are both pretty cheap. The AE car is probably lighter. They are pretty new, and might not even be out quite yet.

That is what you get when you have an indoor offroad track in So Cal. They all have been about that size. That track is decent sized if it fits all those Slash trucks on there confortably.

Revelation is 200'X100', but not very 1/10 scale friendly.

the consensus seems to be that the slash is more durable but the sc10 is lighter as you said, and handles a bit better, but the biggest difference is that the sc10 jumps much better due to the weight layout rear suspension. sc10's are $224 on ebay for a RTR kit. However, if we can't run in the slash class, it's mute point.

I wonder if they only allow slashes in that class, and what motors do they allow in class.

If they just allow "stock class" motors, I have everything, and could just get the kit for $185 shipped.

Even if you had to buy the RTR, you could be in for around $300 with a decent charger and battery. The racing looks fun and competetive in that class.

The 1/16 scale slash looks really fun, is AWD, and just as fast. I'd get one of those in a second if they started a class for them. It would make the 1/10 scale track HUGE.

Check it -

I think organizers are getting around to changing the name from "Slash" to "Short Track". That way the SC10's will be included also.

no one else on here is into rc drifting?

these videos are by one of the best rc drift crews called Slideways. forgive the music in the second video. it's JDM. but the skill of the drivers + the track that they are on and the on-board cam makes it worth it. the second video is filmed at Race World in Hawaii on their rc track that was designed for drifting

I have one of these still...

Does that count?

actually I have been wondering if there was a way to retro fit it with better quick charge batteries instead of the regular NiCads that it runs on. any hint?

TIA,

RR

ok, looks like there will be only a stock class for the slash, and then open for sc10 and modded slashes. I think would rather for the the stock class, that track is too small for modded IMO.

What do you guys think?

I think from the perspective of low cost racing, the stock class would be the way to go. Mod class would end up costing a lot more money to be competitive.

How soon do you want to race? I have just finished putting together my MP9 and am waiting to run it on Sunday. Give me a couple weeks before buying another one. Hahaha
