Default IXIZ Concepts hood dampers

Hey guys

I just wanted to do a short write up on the IXIZ Concepts hood dampers I bought last week. I found out about them on another thread describing the various other dampers out on the market. After checking out their site, and deciding that their products looked good, I purchased the dampers for a mere $89.50, shipped!

I received them about 3 days later. They were packaged very securely and professionally. I looked the dampers over and decided not to print out the directions on line, as instructed, and installed them (As you can see by the pics below, Iím pretty good at installing various parts on my car). After installing both of them within about 10 minutes, I slowly closed the hood. As I did so, I noticed some slight resistance, but kept on closing the hood anyway. Then the pivot point attachment on the right side (driverís side) that connects the damper to the hood snapped.

The left damper (passengerís side) stayed intact, but I quickly raised the hood so as not to cause any damage to it. I took the right damper off of the car and inspected it and took pictures of both broken damper and the intact damper. I emailed IXIZ Concepts customer service and sent them pictures of the broken damper and a short description of what had happened.

Within about 15 minutes IXIZ Concepts customer service responded and told me, based on the pictures of the intact damper still installed on the hood, that I had installed them incorrectly. They emailed me a copy of their installation instructions and said that they would send out a replacement pivot point attachment ASAP, at no charge, even though it broke because I had installed them incorrectly.

I received the replacement pivot point attachment today and fitted it onto the right damper with no problems what so ever. I then reinstalled both dampers, this time according to their instructions. After some testing and opening and closing the hood multiple times, they stayed in great shape and worked perfectly! I have only had them on the car for a short while, but so far I am very happy with the quality and construction of the product. I am also very happy with their price, $89.50 for both dampers, because it is at least $50 cheaper than any other quality damper out on the market today.

I have also dealt with various Suby vendors and have yet to deal with one that responds to emails as quickly (if at all), and that sends out replacement parts even though the user broke it when installing them improperly. I felt that these guys deserve a short write up because their dampers are good quality, low cost, and the customer service they offer is outstanding and responds quickly. I am in no way involved or sponsored by this company, so I gain nothing by posting this, other than promoting a good company.
So in short, Iím happy with their product (so far) and would definitely recommend them to all Imperza owners out there. Remember guys, this is just my opinion, so please donít get on here and talk ***** unless you have a valid point.

Thanks for looking.

Here are some pics if you want to check out the installed dampers on my car.

Yep +1 on Ixiz and their hood Dampers. I have had mine for over a year and a half I think and no issues. They just work perfectly.

This should be moved to the car part reviews section. Nice dampers and a clean looking car btw.

I can say that Ixiz is a guy who loves what he does and is always looking for new and cool things to make for his/our cars. If he sets out to make a product he always has quality as number 1 on his mind.
