Default Help: 2008-09 Impreza - How to remove rear deck/third brake area

Does anyone have information on how to remove the rear deck or third brake light area in a 2008-09 Impreza Sedan? I can't find anything on the Subaru Technical site.

I want to take it out and attach insulation because it makes noise over every bump, and even when stopping at low RPMs (vibrating transmission I guess).

Any info would be great.

1. Open trunk and remove inside panel from top
2. There will be 4 screws(Two on either sides, and two through two holes you have to get through)
3. Once screws are removed, push up on the piece starting on the outside moving in.
4. You may need to disconect the windsheild washer fluid line, it pops off and just tie it in a knot so fluid dosent go everywhere.
5. To remove the piece from the light, you need to slide the 3rd brake light out.
Hope that helped

Thanks! Did you fold down the seats and then pop off the tabs that hold down the panel?

I don't have a third brake since I have the spoiler, but thats the general area I'm talking about.

Its the panel on the rear door that you have to pop off. No reason to go anywhere near the seats.
