Default STX Legality? Intake Heat Shield and Wind Tray

Just wondering if the SPT intake heat shield is STX legal and; is removing the wind tray under the engine STX legal?

Looking at the rule book it says the intake can be modified as long as you're not directing air by modifying the car. The heat shield doesn't direct air and I'm not modifying any parts of the car since it just bolts on.

Also, the rules say you can remove plastic cosmetic engine covers but I'm not sure that the tray under the engine would fall into that category. Anyone else running the ST classes remove theres?

I don't see anywhere in the rules that would allow you to remove the aero tray under the engine.

The SPT intake is legal.

Since it's for the intake, even though not necessary, it's legal since there aren't any restrictions on the parts that can be included in said intake.

Lets say someone did though.. what class would that put them in? Reason I ask ... I had to remove that aero piece in order to put my skid plate on (do a bit of rallycross too, cheap insurance). Car is otherwise a ST car.

I assume the skid plate weighs more? If so, I doubt anyone would protest that is ST. If they did, it would be pretty silly.

Per the rules it's illegal to have a skid plate in ST classes. I doubt anyone would protest you at a local event, but at larger events sillier things have happened.
