Default DIY: How to relocate your watersprayer for FMIC

i searched and never found a thread on how to do this so i figured id make it

supplies needed
  • OEM Check Valve - (Subaru Part #86634AG010) $8.00
  • something to cut with $5.00 at max
  • square foot of heat ducting metal shouldnt be to much maybe $8.00
  • 2 inch replacement screws for front plate $1.00
  • hammer
  • 7 feet of vacuum line $10.00 max
  • universal windshield whipper sprayers $15.00
  • drill bits
  • drill
  • hose T $1.00
  • unless your safe you'll need either zip ties or factory bumper clips $0-$15.00

1. Remove the front bumper
2. take the line that should be in your engine bay that went to your top mount watersprayer and connect the 7 foot line too it.
3. now run that line to your front i ran mine right under my headlight into my bumper beam then ran across the FMIC.
4.cut hose where you see fit then cut the extra cut in half
5. cut about 4 inches back on the line going to water sprayer and install check valve there (first toward the engine bay)
6. put T from where you first cut.
7. replace the front license plate screws
8. cut metal 7 by 7 inches
9. put metal on a right angle corner of work bench stair or anything and hammer it to bend it half so it should be in a shape then bend alittle more more.
10. press up against the screws that should be now coming threw your bumper and so the bend it toward the top of your bumper. This should leave marks on the metal so you will know where to drill holes.
11. use drill bit alittle smaller then the screws you used for the license plate and drill the holes in the metal.
12. decide where you want to put the nozzles (i did mine a inch from the center two inches apart.) use a drill the size of the nozzle screw in part where you want them to be.
13. unscrew license plate hold metal up against the back with the bend toward the top then re screw in license plate that should secure the bracket.
14. attach nozzles to bracket
15. attach each extra line to a nozzle
16. put bumper close to car attach nozzle lines to the T.
17. put bumper back on and adjust the nozzles to where you see fit.
18. fill up tank and enjoy!!!!!!!!

sorry for the lack of pics but here are some.

any issues pm me .

I plan to do this soon but I feel it shouldn't require this much work. I mean, should just be as simple as extending the line and mounting it but this looks like way too many steps lol. Good writeup though!

easier way to do it

if you got a front plate leave alittle of that black platic that you cut out
remove the ic sparyer from the top and run the hose there with a hole that you have to make cost really not much at all
