Hi all. I've owned a 95 WRX here for the past 3.5 yrs, had to sell recently, own a Forester s/tb STi (for the wife), and looking to buy another Subi comparable to my WRXOld to the island, new to the forum...looking for good info - meets, drives, routes, spots, cheap parts, etc...looking forward to talking to/meeting you all, picking your brains, and participating in the enjoyment of Okinawa.

Thanks for the reply...do you know how much that V limited is going for? Any other info on it would be cool, PM me if you want.

I need a car first, and some time with it, before I get up north to kill some tires, so Gymkahana will have to wait...

I've seen your subi around...those white rims. Fresh. And I been checking out those sites, but still need to fig them out a bit more. Anyway...thanks man.

Anyone know a good mechanic where I can get a compression test done? Or just a check-up really. The car is idling a little funky, and sometimes I'll accellerate and get practically no boost.

here on island or in the states? you can get wheel spacers at upgarage.. but why do you need them? the hub bearings does go bad after a short while.

no here on island, but does up garage have in in stock? do you think, and i keep hearing that thats not actually true, and these do not affect the car mechanically in any way. check the link below

the hub bearings isn't mechanical... there just bearings. it all depends on the rim offset and how wide the rims.. stock rims with hub spacers is a big no no... basicly putting pressure on one side of the bearing(top part) and over a short perid of time bad bearing!

if you daily drive then you should be fine.. if you have 114.3X5 hubs.. they are much stronger hubs.. i think you will be fine.

what WRX do you drive?

where do you work at?

they might not have them in stock.. just got to look and see. if not then ask them if they can find some online and get them shipped here with no problems.

In other news, I won my insurance case! A good bit of money is headed my way for repairs. I'm thinking of trying to find a carbon fiber hood. Any ideas where I can get a decent one without a **** ton in shipping?

Well, my bug eye is leaking oil like crazy, and the timing belt is way overdue. Typhoon quoted almost 2k in costs, and I'm not going to be here long enough for that to be justifiable, so I think it's time to sell for dirt cheap.

Forget that. I'll be getting the money from my insurance case soon, so I'll have the funds. I'd like to do the timing belt myself however. I'm probably going to get this kit: http://www.rallysportdirect.com/Gate...-WRX-2002-2003. Has anyone done a timing belt change before? I'd pay in beer/food if you helped.

I figure for the gasket problem, I would take it to a shop for that, as I have no idea where to start or what to replace or anything. Anyone else have any ideas?

Once both of those are done, all that's left is replacing the hood and bumper (no carbon fiber). I figure I'll look around on island, upgarage, or Yahoo Auctions if it comes to it.

So by the time I get all this done, I just have to wait until February, then sell her.

i can do a timing belt... done plenty of them in the past. did one last weekend. if you get the kit and i can show you how to do it. it's very simple and easy. you should not have to spend 2K. that is nuts!

make sure you get the bearings with the timing belt.

as for the leaks.. i have to take a look to see where it is leaking at. most of those leaks can be fixed.
