you know that's a great theory and all but NA buildups and turbo buildups go 2 TOTALLY different directions. No way can you turbocharge a NA buildup...it'll run like piss, it'll miss and most likely detonate a piston.

Well, it would be interesting to see a N/A 2.5RS with 227 hp at the crank vs. a stock WRX, but for some reason I'd think the WRX would win, but I have no idea why that is.

Unless the WRX has more hp at the wheels than a N/A 2.5RS with 227 hp would have at the wheels, they should be the same. Well, off the line I think the RS would kill the WRX, gotta love torque.

Actually because of turbo lag, I've beat every turbo car on the street all-motor in MY01 RS, and if need be I squeeze. My intake temps are much lower than a turbo's.

What would happen if you left the internals of your N/A stock and your fuel system stock and your just go and turbocharge the car....at say 5psi of boost? Could this blow your car up?

N/A sounds better

If I was going to mod-out my car, i would go the N/A route with a 2.5 in order to save weight... And get all those nice COBB engine parts of course (Hopefully that Intake Manifold thingy they were talkin about will come out sometime too... I'd like to see a 280hp N/A 2.5 )

er... ok about the 11sec subbie...

but anyways... back to topic... i guess each person has their own needs and wants...

N/A is for fast instant power.... but not as much higher end power...

while Turbo will give you much more power a bit later on in the Revs?...

am i right?...

ah, so what are your power goals? this is the major question....

you could do like me so you don't need to decide right away...

I went ahead and my first power mod on my 2002 2.5rs auto was

Cobb CAI (I would suggest ganz...I don't think it is realy worth all the cash)
Next is Cobb STREET Cams
net up is light weight pullys
Then proECM chip (butt dyno is unsure if it realy works)
then mabye a light flywheel (I am an auto so I don't know...just going from what I heard)
by this point...ask yourself...you happy with the power?

if not then:
Wanna try nitrous? Wanna go all out N/A? Wanna slide to the dark side and go forced induction?

N/A:
Heads, spicy N/A build cams, nice header back exaust system... mabye a little

n2o:
N2o power house: go to a custom tuner and ask to get a fogger kit made... ya might want forged pistons and what not...

turbo/supercharger:
well since you bought stuff that can actually be moved right over to the turbo setup...well everything minus the intake, which ya can easly sell off to a new i-clubber.

I got to the point of buying an intake and buying cams...now I know I want to go to the dark side...so I am, with a friend of mine, building a kit which he might be selling soon..for us 02rs owners ah now just to wait for the last parts to be made...

Good luck with the dession
-Neal
