Thanks guys. I feel great and am a huge believer in crossfit. I've never seen results like this before. I don't dread going to the gym anymore. I hate when I miss a class no matter how hard it might be. I know I'll never be a superstar athlete but I feel good that I'm making myself better. And the people around me are awesome. I'm one of those people who've always had a gym membership but never went because they never enjoyed it. It's really weird how addictive crossfit is.

My back feels tweaked today, I'm definitely swinging wrong. I need to be careful and go light I think.

Fortunately, no KB's tonight.

I left the box tonight feeling better than I have in years. I'm still high and I'm not even sure why.

Today we did:

800m run

Warmup of sprint drills (I think?) followed by some gymnastics where we did various somersaults onto a mat from varied heights. Then that was incorporated into a drill of a somersault from about 3 feet onto the mat, then jumping up onto a high bar and having to essentially monkey bar across our rows of pull up bars. It was challenging and crazy fun.

WOD:

16x
Wall balls & burpees
20 seconds work w/ 10 seconds of rest.

It's very hard to bulk serious muscle on CrossFit as programmed by mainsite or most boxes. It's far too catabolic. Strength-focused affiliates like Rob Orlando's Hybrid Athletics program specifically for that. Shorter Wods, heavier weights, less 'met-cons', regular lifting sessions.

I may look into that then. I'm just a small dude, a bit of size wouldn't hurt. But I'm not trying to get bodybuilder big either...

Ya, you just need to eat enough. That is my problem. I do crossfit all the time, but I don't eat enough. So, I am just ripped

this is true. I lift most days, and usually follow cffootball to keep my strength and size where I want it. I suggest people follow that, only as long as they do it with someone that is an experienced lifter if they arent one themselves.

CF Football is another great resource for strength-focused CrossFit workouts. John Wellbourn is a former NFL player that seems to really know his ****.

Did a nasty one today, don't know if there is a name for it other than mother****er, because that is what I kept muttering.

3 Rounds for Time….
10 SDHP (70#)
15 Burpees
20 Overhead Lunges (35#)
25 KB Swings (40#)
30 Sit-ups
400 meter run (track was closed, so I did 200 jump rope)

Bah hope it's not something surgical for you.

Yesterday after doing some lifting, 2 friends and I did the final wod for the Iron Curtain competition that was this past weekend. It was a doozie:

10 Snatches (115/65 for Open)
20 Front Squats (same bar)
30 Pull-ups (CTB)
40 Wall Ball (20/14 to 10' for all)
50 Push-ups
60 Sit-ups
70 Sumo Deadlift High Pulls (with 55/35 lbs Kettlebell; no KB dropping allowed)
80 feet Overhead Walking Lunges (45/25 lbs plate)
900 m Run to finish!

my massage therapist tells me I'm not supposed to work out the day I get a massage... but I really want to go tonight. What she doesn't know won't hurt her?

Looks like you're going to be an upper body/one-legged specialist for awhile. Hope it is nothing serious.
