as bad as my shoulder is, its still not as much pain in the ass as my left foot i broken it once and sprained it about 5 times and now it is much weaker than my right so i tend to overpronate when i stand or walk. And while it doesn't hurt that much, it makes buying shoes almost impossible. I have now tried about 10 different shoes for working out in and i still haven't found a single one that is comfortable.

I went from having pain on only more shoulder intensive days to having pain just about all the time. I'm to the point now where I would rather switch up the workout to avoid doing alot of shoulder stuff than to do something RX and feel pain. Just be careful man and when things start to feel uncomfortable, so switch it up to an exercise that is easier on whatever is hurting.

with that said, sometimes it is tough to not get mad at my body for being so freaking messed up. i dislocated my shoulder quite a few times, broken quite a few bones and i have some lingering problems that make some WOD's super hard. damn me and my broken body
I know what you mean. I've had issues with my wrist for the past 6-7 weeks and it's not getting any better. It sucks because it was due to a special WOD that we would normally not due. Now because of that one WOD it has affected my performance. Can't do push ups without pain. Can't do double unders because my timing has been so off. Can't do cleans or other excercises where my wrist needs to support weight. Just pisses me off. Even worse is that I haven't gotten it looked at because of my stupid high deductible insurance. Now that it's the end of the year I'm hoping to get it looked at in a few weeks. [/end rant]

wrist straps are awesome. I was just like you red, lots of wrist pain simply because I was newer to some lifts like heavier cleans and front squats, and because of years of playing baseball(pitcher) and basketball. I switched to wrist straps and it's rare that I wrist pain. It's partly due to gaining flexibility, but those wrist straps definitely help.

Do you stretch your wrist out? That helped me a lot it pretty much fixed the problem I had with my wrist hurting during OH squats and push press.

I use the black line. They are flexible enough to let your wrists/hands get back like they need to on front squats but still offer great support.

I have inzer brand wrist wraps that are the same as those "black line." If they are actually the same product they work good but they are not mirrors of each other (just two wraps that have the loop at the same spot), so you have to wrap them both the same way which is harder to do for my right wrist. I'd probably get some that were opposites if I were to get new ones.

Did Fran on Saturday for the first time. 6:37. Not terrible. My competition did it in 6:08. I need to speed up my thrusters, or at least do something so my grip isn't failing during the pull ups so I can do those unbroken.

6:37 is very solid. Especially for a first timer. IMO speeding up thrusters is really hard and can fatigue quickly. Steady and as unbroken as you can is the way on the thrusters for Fran

Are they actually letting him do full CF workouts with them? That'd be awesome.

Not sure, haven't seen any episodes yet, but his Twitter has been blowing up all about CrossFit for a while now. He specifically mentions that he's gonna make his season 13 team do it.

this could case an even larger explosion of boxes showing up... sometimes unqualified even.

But hey.. if it gets some really out of shape people into starting to recover. I like to see that. Since starting crossfit it's been great to see all the people change around me as well as the changes in myself. It only validates what we're doing even more.

Dumb. I hate getting tears, and it's been probably 5-6 months since I had any. Doubly hate athletes trying to show how hard they are by taking pictures of their torn/bleeding hands and posting them on FB

That said, 2 days ago I did a bunch of 135lb Hang Power Snatches. That weight for me required a hook grip. I have been neglecting my hook grip. I have visions of competing locally in Olympic Lifting, so this is something I should be neglecting. Well I paid for it. Inside my thumb on both hands and base of my pinky in both hands have some tears. My own fault. Lesson learned. From now on, for at least the next month or 2, I will be using the hook for just about every barbell lift in an attempt to toughen my **** up because right now, they aren't there yet.
