When will you guys that tear your hands ever get some of these? Ive had my pair for about 2 years and in that time have never torn my hands open while using them.
I normally wear ones like that made out of tape. I'd done 90+ pullups the day before, so my hands were a little tender to start, and then I started the WOD without my 'gloves,' which was a mistake.

And thanks for the link, I just ordered a pair.

trust me, you'll never do another pullup workout without them. I also like wearing them doing deadlifts as well.

I still tear right around the holes with those. They don't seem to work for me. I also have small hands so they make the bar harder to grip.

around the holes? really? You might have the wrong size. You shouldnt be able to fully open your hand. My hands are fairly small as well, but Ive never had a problem with them.

Good interview with Shana Alverson and Brandon Phillips. I really think/hope Shana does well this year at the games, she's such a hard worker, and a great person.

http://games.crossfit.com/video/all-...s-and-alverson

We did EMOTM 5 burpees, 100m run. If you couldn't get back in the door by the minute mark, you sat out the next minute. Score was the total number of rounds you finished. I got 19. Sat out #18. I was so gassed. I could have started round 18, but would have started 10 seconds behind the 8-ball (gasping for breath), and knew I wouldn't have finished the run, so I sat it out then knocked out the last two rounds.

Fun workout though, and would be a good travel WOD...

I had told myself I would not attempt Isabel until I successfully snatched 185lb. I got that PR on Sunday. Well today was benchmark day at the box. Pick your girl. So I went at Isabel for the first time.

3:56 Rx!!!!

Very happy! Vid incoming.

Just wanted to post in here, officially put my goal out to NASIOC, too. Almost one year ago today, I got back on the fitness wagon. I decided I wasn't "in shape" just because I was managing not to gain weight in my desk jockey job.

September 12, 2011, I started P90X. I first did the "lean" cycle, trying to ease back in. I immediately followed up with a second round, doing the "classic" schedule. Toward the end of that, it was sinking in..."was I really pushing myself?" The answer was no, so I started a third round. Toward the end of that cycle, I blew out my hamstring, bringing my workouts to a halt for a while. Once I got it better, I started in slowly, doing just the weight workouts, Plyo and Yoga were NOT happening, LOL. The summer has been difficult, I'm coaching my son's baseball team, vacations, etc..., so getting back on track now.

My 40th birthday is approaching, next May. I've decided I'm going to see exactly how "fit" I can get by then. My wife and I started Insanity last week, and I'm topping it off with three P90X days/week on top (varying the workouts each week, but covering chest, back, shoulders, arms and legs). I've decided that my goal for my 40th is an "Angie." Goal: 25 minutes.

I have no idea where that falls in the spectrum of good times, but I saw that vid here where someone posted Spealler (sp?) doing it in 10, and they said 20 minutes is considered very good. I picked 25 minutes for now, which sounds ambitious still. I've already done a "micro" version (25 reps of each) and I did that in sub-2.5 minutes. Another 25 reps will clearly take longer than the first 25, so my goal for a "half-Angie" is 8 minutes. After that, I'll tackle a 75-version, then work on the full one. If I somehow manage to break 25 minutes on a full version before my birthday, I'll lower the goal.

Ok....it's out there now!

My best Angie is 21:28. I would love to break 20 but I don't have the commitment that others have. For me, it's just a fun way to stay in shape.

I have a pair of the limited edition black and money green nano 2.0's on the way Just had to wait for 9.5's to become available.

Have been doing CF for about 4 months now and really liking it. Really need to work on my thrusters though.

Thrusters are the worst.

We did 100 thrusters @ 95 lbs on Tuesday and I'm still sore and probably will be walking funny for another couple of days.

Yeah I skipped that WOD and did 100 squats(2 sets of 50 unbroken), 50 Hand stand pushups and then 20 bar weight thrusters.

Yeah, I hate thrusters with a passion. But I've been working on my mobility before thruster wods and I am no longer intimidated by them. Baby steps.

What were you doing to help with them? I think part of my problem was that I was doing them to much like a jerk portion of the clean and jerk. The couple times I did them in a WOD I tweaked my left shoulder.

Remember to use the velocity from your legs and the power of your hips to drive that bar off your shoulders.

..that is where you generate speed and power (which you know). Just got done watching some WR snatch at the Olympics via Youtube. Really wish I could have done Oly-style lifting. I wanna toss a Caber too.

It's really awesome. I have fallen in love with the sport, both as a participant and a spectator. It's almost like poker or golf in the sense that there is no such thing as a perfect game, round or lift. There is always, always something you can improve on, or a quality coach with a watchful eye can pick up on to help you become more efficient. It's that quest to minimize mistakes that keeps me coming back.

It's never to late to play with barbell gymnastics Timbo...

After the hardest year of my life in 2011-2012 (divorce after 12 yrs of marriage, failed ivf attempts, dealing with emotional aftermath of a spouse who apparently cheated on me for 10yrs with many different people whom were supposed to be friends of 'us'), I have started making changes for the better.

After some encouragement from an old friend who's a CF coach, I did OnRamp in July and have been CFing ever sense. I have a long, long way to go before I have hope of completing a Rx WOD, and lots of fat to drop, but I'm convinced consistent CF with a reasonable diet will get me there eventually.

So, I guess my first goal will be to remain consistent in doing CF 3-4 times a week for a year and eating reasonable calorie and nutrition wise. I'm bad about not finishing what I start, even when it's something I like. No more. A solid year of CF, then more goal setting from there.

Happy CFing nasioc!

Keep it up Steph. I started 2 years ago as an overweight, hypertensive with high cholesterol. Now I'm competing and loving it. Just take it slow and stay healthy. Work on getting stronger first and foremost and the rest will fall into place. Congrats on using this opportunity to focus on you.

Which box are you working out at?
