I'm still recovering from doing weighted pullups with 100lbs. I was on my way up with my 5th rep and felt something that didnt feel right. I havent done them for a week just to make sure i dont jack it up. Today I did 104 strict form pushups in 2 minutes and ran a 1.5 mile in 9:32 for my morning workout. Lunch time I was working the technique passing the guard bjj with one of the combatives instructors at work.

10 mile beach run tomorrow morning followed by another formal bjj technique session during lunch. Damn I love my job...

five reps of 100lbs pullups is beastly

How do you quantify good crossfitter? Because there are plenty of people strong enough to muscle up big nasty c&js that wouldn't be called good weightlifters based on their form.

102 push ups in 2 min is beastly. As in extended scale APFT score beastly. I'd like to see a video of that....

A self-invented WOD today, no clue if this was a good test, or just a ridiculous conglomeration of exercises. Just wanted a good metcon (look at me, using the lingo):

Run 1 mile
30 situps
30 thrusters (65 lbs, I'm weak)
30 pullups
30 box jumps (I think 15" or so, one of those Reebok plastic thingies at the gym with four risers)
30 pushups
Run 3/4 mile
20 situps
20 thrusters
20 pullups
20 box jumps
20 pushups
Run 1/2 mile
10 situps
10 thrusters
10 pullups
10 box jumps
10 pushups
Run 1/4 mile

43:37. Yeah, I know it's slow....:-p

My 10 mile run time was 90:44. I held a sub 8 mile pace the first 7 miles on the beach, not all of it was hard pack. After I hit the road, I legs went into somewhat of a shock... I swear running in sand is murder.... mile 8 was 10:32 pace, 9 mile 9:17, 10 mile 9:02. It was good to get back to work to replenish with fluids and food.

I'm sleeping like a baby tonight. Lunch time bjj training passing the guard I had no energy, but I did get down some technique.

The navy bi-anual fitness test is 2 minutes max sit-ups, 2 minutes max push-ups followed by a 1.5 miler run. I will get my 120+, 100+ and I am dying trying to break 9 minutes.

I have been slacking with my interval training/ crossfit training, but nonetheless I am still sweating my ass off doing everything else. I feel as if constantly maxing out for 2 weeks with crossfit football really made my joints sore. LOL, my 6'2" frame is naturally at 185. Im curently 205 and trying to maintain.

Did glen today.. A lovely new England fall day to go running.

30x 135 clean and jerk
1 mile run
10 x 15' rope climb
1 mile run
100 burpees

Going in I was concerned about the c&j, but those melted away on pace with the group. The rope climbs were slow and my arms didn't hang out long doing them.
Came in from last run at the 40:00 cutoff and kept going.
55:30 finish time.

Really happy having done it, my pace was all over the place but I was still having fun with it.
I started today sure I was only going to do a half Glen.. But coop was going for the full pull so I had to.

She ended up missing the turnaround on the first run and kept going till the road ended. Rx+!

Ha! The road ends about a quarter mile past where I was supposed to turn around. So it's not that hardcore... more moronic really. Guess I zoned out.

cffb is just a supplemental workout I incorporated with my routine. I've been going heavy for a while, just not with the consistancy that cffb requires.

Meaning, my joints are having a hard time especially when I am running as much as I do. I am losing a bit of strength, cardio/stamina thru the roof, and then add bjj into the mix. I am hurting. I'm naturally a tall and lanky dude.

This morning I played with a 20 lb medicine ball, 20 side throws against a wall followed by a burpee each rep, both sides, then up the center, and then 20 backwards hurls w/ burpees. After that I hopped on the bench, warmed up with 135X20, then 225 I could only get her up 16 times. I was getting her up 20X last month.

I don't think i'm doing it wrong, If anything just a bit excessive... I am not injuring myself so...

CFFB develops serious explosive power. I can max out bench with 345, but when doing 5x @ 75%, 3X @ 80, 2X @ 90% is really tolling especially for me just starting out. I need to build on it to be able to endure that much weight consistantly. Strength is tapering off with my weight loss as expected, but I am overall happy with my health.

Going to Guam for work tomorrow... I'm anticipating a lot of body weight exercises and running. Gonna give sonicblues workout a shot.

Continue to dream up some custom routines, part to rest a creaky shoulder/rotator cuff, and part b/c I don't actually go to a box and lack certain equipment. Today I did:

AMRAP 20:
10 Thrusters @65 (started at 95, way too much by round 3)
20 situps
10 box jumps @24?
20 situps

made it through 6 full rounds, plus 37 reps. My front squat is very weak, years of doing nothing squat-like due to a crack-and-creak-and-pop right knee. Turns out the better move would have been to continue squatting all that time, just with something very light, full range of motion and keep everything 'active.' Feeling better as I get back into various squats, but I have to proceed cautiously for now.

How does one get to a 345 bench with no volume? Impressive.

You're losing strength because you're doing A LOT.

Have you considered knee sleeves? Keeps them nice and warm, I wear them on achey days and it really does help.

Honestly, my knees feel better after working out (legs may be sore, but joints are ok). I'm finding a good rubdown with BioFreeze and Arnica cream right afterwards wards off anything more than average soreness. In the past when I've tried any sleeves, it makes me too adventurous, like they're actual braces. My problem is all cartilage-related, ligaments have always been fine, never injured them. So my challenge is just gradually working on loading up the joint with weight, and making sure my form is good so as to keep the weight even.

Today is my first day back into it. this morning I did 10X135 front squats, 10x burpees, 10x135 flat bench, ten sets. Under 42 minutes... I didnt pace myself at first and felt as if I was gonna puke half way through... Burpees do it to me all the time.
Lunch time I rolled on the mats for a good hour. I burned up a bunch of unnecessary energy with my shi++y technique. All good fun and a learning experience.

New front squat PR - 265.

I missed on 275.

My hip has been giving me issues but it was nice to have even a nominal increase in my max. 265 went up easy, should've had 275.
