Nice on the PR! I did 100 strict firn pullups today. I knocked out the first 6x10 then had to drop down to 5s to finish 'em up. One if my Chief's challenged me to a burpee contest for an hour. I'm schurred... cuz I know I'm gonna be hurting. Two Mondays from now its on.

Who's down?

Nice PR! My hips have been really tight from all the squatting and oly lifting I've been doing

I'm going to get a massage Saturday for my tight hips. Luckily one of our trainers is also a certified massage therapist and they turned an office into a massage room so I can get it done right on site. Never had one before so we'll see how it goes.

Massage and a foam roller are critical for those who CF.

I could use a good rub down today, especially shoulders and lower back. I think CF memberships should come with a free monthly deep tissue massage.

Thanks for the thanks all. Quite crabby I blew it on the 275 still.

It's just the right side, but when I do hip based movements, firing my hips forward just created a searing sensation. I thought it was my TFL. I've done about 8 sessions of ART which has loosened up my glutes and hip capsules but I can't seem to get anything to fix this issue on the front of my hip. Tried PT before.

On to the next chiro...

And Id be amazed if you didn't hurt. You do a lot of volume and throw a lot of weight around. With all my injuries I can't train more than 3 or 4 days a week otherwise I wind up my hurt.

Even though our box isn't the most sophisticated in NJ, every Sunday they do have a girl come in during open gym. 30mins is $20 and she's amazing. Usually goes for an hour instead of 30mins.

Anyone who lifts really...

I just found out my insurance pays for 99 massages a year and have been getting them weekly. I'm prone to rhomboid knots like you wouldn't believe...tight paraspinals too.. Massage has been a god send. I've always been stubborn and just lived with knots, pulls strains etc if I couldn't manipulate them myself...what a dummy. It's already been a noteable boost in my daily quality of life. Also stopped deadlifting as heavy and beltless now because of some intercostal pain which has been subsiding.

My box isn't a posh one either, that's part of what I like about it. Adding a routine massage therapist might be something I suggest. I have a good one, just can't afford it as much as I'd like (still a bit cautious living without a spouse to help take pressure off budget wise).

ART for those rhomboids....is fantastic. Probably the muscle group I most enjoy working on actually.

Welcome to getting old.

To Neek's post, I literally had to stop drinking beer as my workouts increased. The amount of inflammation I dealt with the next day(s) was enough to affect my workout or make me stop. Had to clean up my diet in order to recover.

Holy crap...

Went to go see my Sports Chiro:

Right Sartorius strain, lots of loaded deep squats...graston and deep trigger point therapy. Not too bad.
Bilateral Supraspinatus impingement...Deep ART. I think he stood on my shoulder. I was seeing stars.

Definitely more pain free ROM afterwards though.

Sounds like a 'hurts so good' thing. You people are all making me want to try ART even though I've been good except for normal soreness/tightness.

The benefits of ART are tremendous. Just because you are not 'hurting' does not mean you cannot benefit from ART. You will. It just means your ART session will be less painful - which is a good thing.

I am extremely sad I cannot find an ART trained therapist anywhere near me. Damned backwards-assed State.

Last time searched for ART, the closest practitioner was in Charlotte. Renick accepts my insurance provider! Bless you Neek! I had given up on finding someone nearby. I'll be calling to make an appointment Monday!
