no, I should have clarified. It was 30 Squat Clean and Jerks, but I did my own. Just felt like deadlifting today.

Yuup. Mary is a hard one! No WODsfor me for 10 weeks now Still don't know what's going on medically with me. But the workout I got installing my HIDs last week felt like a WOD. :-)

Did anyone do the 30 x 155 squat clean and jerk? brutal. I've been doing too much strength bias as I've gotten quite sucky at these high rep WODs to include the likes of Barbara.

I'm just itching to get back into it and gain back enough strength to do them at 135#. And yup on the strength bias stuff. Thou must not forget thy metcon, sucky stuff mixed in with the strength work or thy occasional metcons sucketh much!

Five rounds for time:
100 yrd DB Farmer’s carry (55/35 ea hand)
10 Burpees
10 up-chucks 80/40# (alternate shoulders in some way)

yesterdays for me:

1000m warm up on the row machine.

WOD:
250m row on max resistance
20 wall ball squats
15 pull ups (assisted for me)
as many rounds as possible in 20min.

I made it through 3 solid then up to about 8 wall ball squats. So i rowed another 1000m, 68 wall ball squats, 45 pull ups.
My grip became useless, felt like i could barely harm a loaf of bread afterwards.

Interesting WOD for us today:

Quote:
10-20-30-20-10
Sit ups
K.B. Swings 35/53
SDLHP 65/95
The 30 KB/SDLHP combo is gonna hurt.

I'm not sure. Kb = Kettlebells. SDLHP or SDHP = Sumo Dead Lift High Pulls = Standing upright barbell rows with narrow grip and sumo dead lift stance.

Best place to find a glossary if there is one is "www.crossfit.com".

That's the beauty or scourge of CrossFit. ANY workout can be a suckfest depending on how hard one pushes themselves. Barbara is "fun" but so is the Farmers Carry / Burpee /Upchuck WOD......

Burpees suck all by themselves.......100 for time.....Yeah Baby!

Exactly.

It took me a while to figure some of these out. Just stick SDLHP in google and you'll find something to explain.

Barbara wrecks me. I get naseau easy when upside down so I think the quick situps might do me in. At round four my head feels like hell everytime.

i think we all know that. But why workout if you arent giving it your all. That was my point. To me, it is one of the most draining.

i think that is one reason it is so tough is because, you're constantly up and down....my head gets to spinning

Something similar today:

4 Rounds for max reps of clean and jerks:
Each round consists of 5 minutes:
400 Meter run
30 Box jumps (Men 24″ box, Women 20″ box)
Max rep clean & jerks (Men 155 lbs, Women 105 lbs)
Rest 1 minute between rounds.

Did the 30 squat clean and jerks for time with 135lbs. 11min 30 sec. It was tough to stay tight being so out of breathe. The last few jerks - my core was jelly.

Did Barbara with dips instead of pullups to work on my weakness and stay off a sprained thumb. Took forever... 50 min including 3 minute rests. It looks kinda harmless, but then you add up the reps... it's like a million reps. 3 minutes is a huge rest too.

4
<none> conked on the run and then ran out of time after the final box jump
3
3

My eyes were burning from the sweat and I was close to pukie on this one.

today:

5 deadlifts
7 gymnast ring push ups
9 ball slams
4 rounds for time

I got 10min. The deadlifts took me the longest of that easily. I was lifting like 10lbs under my body weight. The ring push ups were cake for me, but people there say they are brutal. dunno.
My arms didn't feel tired enough so i put on 14oz boxing gloves and beat on the heavy bag for awhile.

This one was pretty interesting,
For time:
100m 40lbs dumbell farmer carry
100m 20lbs overhead carry
100m 45lbs plate hug carry
100m 53lbs kettlebells rack carry
500m row
50 hip extensions.

I don't know why but carrying the weights really slowed down my runs. I've run much faster and much further in full kit but holding the weights made it pretty difficult...probably cause you can't swing your arms.

Damn, 1st day back with Crossfit and I got my ass kicked!

Started with my regularly scheduled Deadlift workout:
45*10, 135*8, 225*3, 275*3, 315*3, 355*3

then went into today's WOD:

"Lumberjack 20"

20 Deadlifts (275lbs)
Run 400m
20 KB swings (2pood)
Run 400m
20 Overhead Squats (115lbs)
Run 400m
20 Burpees
Run 400m
20 Pullups (Chest to Bar)
Run 400m
20 Box jumps (24")
Run 400m
20 DB Squat Cleans (45lbs each)
Run 400m

A sad 46:30 on the dot. I need to start running again, the running killed me. Oh yeah, the overhead squats killed my back too.

I hear ya, Lou. Overhead squats - how do I hate thee? Let me count the ways...

My OHP 5/3/1 workout last night SUCKED. Didn't finish the RX'd reps on the final set - no energy. Today is a rest day for me, but I have a WOD tommorrow at 10am at my home "box".

I think I'm going to start going to the Crossfit gym here in VA where I work a couple times during the week....
