I'm totally jazzed. I get my second crack at Cindy tomorrow. My first time was November 1st and I was still new to crossfit and not in such great shape. I got 11 rounds that day. I'm hoping for 14-15 tomorrow, maybe more!

Broke it up into Cindy, and after today, I can say that I will never be doing the Cindy workout again. Ive never done a time where it didnt hurt my shoulder. Doing pullups and pushups that quick back to back inflame my shoulder terribly. However, today was the last straw. After the first 2 rounds my shoulder was inflamed, so it was either go very hard but not be able to do the full 20 rounds to get the 300/200/100, or do a set and wait 1 minute or more between sets to wait for the pain to subside. So until the shoulder gets surgery which might be this year, no more Cindy.

Thanks for the push Lou! Got 16 rounds. The aftermath:

Today:
70 burpees
60 sit ups
50 KB swings (35lbs)
40 pull ups
30 HSPU

27:05

That was actually faster than I expected to be able to do all that. I'm still using the blue band for pull ups until I get the kipping, and my HSPU involve just the teeeeeeniest dip of my arms, but hey, I'm in a handstand at least.

Starting to feel like my endurance has already improved for soccer and the workouts. Whee!

I imagine Catalyst is one of the most amazing gyms everywhere. If I'm ever in the area I'm definitely stopping by.

Take the bar off the clavicle and put it on your deltoids. Your upper arms should be parallel to the ground, with the weight sitting on your deltoids, nothing else.

Nice job, coop! Don't rush the kipping pullups. Doing them strict builds good shoulder strength that you'll need to keep the shoulders healthy when you do start kipping. I think a small upward kip is ok, but I wouldn't start trying to do the full "head through the pane of glass big swing" kip until you have at least 5 strict pullups, if not more.

I'm pretty excited. I figured they'd hold the MUs until week 6. I've never tried one with the turnout, but tried some tonight after class and was able to hit a few. Not consecutive, and I was fresh, so I'm hoping for 1 on Saturday.

New PR for me last night...power clean at 155lbs. That's 2 lbs over current BW.

I was stoked...I'm a a "thin-boned" person...not skinny but my wrists/legs aren't beefy. So being able to lift that much for me is a big thing. I still recall 2 years back starting to do cleans at 75lbs thinking "wow...this crap is hard!"

Signed up for a 5 day fundamentals class starting Monday. Then had a big argument with the wife over the cost of the membership my employer may cover some of the membership, and if they do, I may be able to cover the rest with my funds...but if I can't, I may be SOL. We're trying to save some money for stuff we have coming down the pike, and this certainly won't help. She also doesn't see why I need to join a 'fancy' gym when we have a gym at work. Our 'gym' at work is old, donated equipment, and no pull up bar, unless we go like 75 yards around 3 buildings...not ideal. We shall see.

Another PR today...I'm on a roll.

Did 100 wallballs @ 20lbs in 6:40. Then went and did DLs and got a new 1RM of 275lbs!

I went to a few classes at a local crossfit gym and liked it, but in the end I can't see myself spending $110 a month for working out twice a week.

Did Diane yesterday:

21-15-9

225lb DL's
HSPU's

I substituted 95lb PP's instead of HSPU's since they wreak havoc on my shoulder.
Also, the day before I did 55 DL's at 225 during my SealFit WOD.

But my time was 7:20, which I felt ok about.

Today's is:

Helen

3 rds

400m run
21 KB swings @ 1.5pood
12 Pullups
