Seems like a lot of you guys moved on to new cars and I can say the same for myself.
Some of you may know my car was totaled by a friend (former) of mine a few months ago. It's quite a story how this all happened, no one was hurt and I was taking a nap at his place when he crashed it (I'll spare you guys the long story. Anyways I ended it up replacing it with something a little better

No not at all. Here's the whole story.
Summary:
-No one was hurt
-My WRX was crashed by my friend
-The same friend went to jail for a DUI and resisting arrest

Story Time (i'll try and shorten it):
Well it all started with me driving over to my good friend Kevins apartment and we took the light-rail downtown and met up with a bunch of our friends. After a few hours Kevin ended up taking a cab back early but I stayed back and I am not going to lie, I had quite a bit to drink that night. I ended up taking a cab back to Kevins apartment and he was sitting there playing COD and he asked me if he can take my car to the grocery store which was four blocks down the road and I said "sure" (He doesn't have a car because his super-reliable Audi S4 is in the shop). But I asked him if he was okay to drive and he said "yeah, I'm all good" so I gave him my keys in full trust. I took a nap on his couch and after 3 missed phone calls from him I find out he crashed my car in the apartment complex parking lot. He ended up going store and came back and he saw our group of friends and then decided to be Ken Block and put it into a wall at 45mph. There was a passenger in the car with him and he was fine as well, the airbags didn't deploy which surprised me. Since this happened in the apartment complex parking lot someone called in the crash and about a minute after I got downstairs a police officer shows up on a motorcycle and asks they typical "what's going on guys?". He then separated us and talked to Kevin first and asks him for his license and then asks him if he's had anything to drink and he then asks how much and thats when Kevin bolts and runs into the complex. At this point I am beyond confused because I was sure he didn't drink that much and he left early from the bars. After running around for a few minutes he gets tasered a couple times and the officer finally gets him on the ground. It was like I was watching an episode of cops. After the officer called in for back up police cars just started pouring in, I counted 8 police cars and 1 ambulance. I was surprised about the response time until I found out that the police station was 5 buildings down the road lol. So I am standing there in shock still trying to put everything together but from what I gathered he ended up heading back early to go to a friends birthday party and I could only guess he drank more there. I think even if he was sober he would have still crashed my car. Lesson learned, I am not going to let anyone drive my car anymore regardless of what they say. It's a bummer being that I was responsible in this situation and I was counting on my friend to be responsible as well. It sucks to see my car go down like it did, it was young and had less than 32k miles on it. Like I said thankfully no one was hurt and I am glad my insurance isn't affected. I will say AAA compensated me with a nice $33k check to go spend on another car.
He ended up taking the lesser charge and got 1 year probation and that was that, his DUI got dropped since his dad is a well known police officer. Kind of messed up in my opinion.
I was pretty surprised my vinyl wrap job stayed intact and the hood didn't crack or shatter.
Luckily I put the car back to stage 2 before I left for Arizona.

I completely understand you on not letting others drive your car. It's the same thing for me but just not as severe. After swapping cars with my friend for two days, my clutch pedal now makes a constant, and very audible, click every time the clutch pedal is released. It's like every time someone uses my car something goes wrong and they had nothing to do with it by any means. I have no idea what it is but he tried telling it was like that when I gave it to him. Of course it was...

My 08 started doing that(or I first noticed it) about two years ago. Tried many lubricants on the clutch spring to no avail. It's something in the linkage between the firewall most likely(according to Vim at Forman) and when I have the time, a tear down will be happening. Until then, turning the stereo up to 11 works.

Many times a click type noise, or noise that sounds like the bushing is actually broken welds where the pedal assembly connects to the firewall.

Live and learn is all I can say. I lent my car out for all of an hour and it got wrecked.
That sucks to hear. I will say the squeak may or may not be caused by a bad clutch. I heard the squeak in my pedal too and ignored it. I first noticed it started after I taught my girlfriend how to drive a stick. Long story short a year down the line I took it in because the clutch was slipping when under load driving up a hill (and I don't burn my clutch). Lo and behold the clutch needed to be replaced and the flywheel was scored. Oddly enough it was covered under warranty and the squeak was gone. So you may want to check that out and again I am not saying it was what it leads to but it's just too coincidental to not consider it.

The only things is, I have had the noise for some time. I'm thinking a year plus. Maybe a year and a half. My clutch pedal has always been really heavy compared to a stock one too as I bought mine used 3 years ago so if the clutch was bad I would have assumed it would have gone out by now.

I suggest looking into the broken welds on the firewall problem. It could be that, and it's very common.

The dealership would need to to fix it.

Best way to see it for yourself that I know of us to remove the cover between the windshield and the hood, if you look down in there you should be able to see one or two of the welds and if they are broken or not.

I think watching for movement of the clutch reservoir in the engine bay while pushing the clutch pedal is also an indicator.
I'm pretty sure some of mine are broken, but I still need to dig into that cover under the wiper blades to find out for certain.
My clutch reservoir moves a lot if I push the pedal through it's stroke and I get clicking noises from the pedal area during cold weather.

Well you can actually see my brake pedal shift over a little bit too when you press the clutch. Ya gillman subaru, probably the most crook people I have ever met wanted $1, 500 to just see what was causing the noise. I asked isn't that a factory defect and they literally told me yes but they don't have to honor it...

The weld that holds the clutch assembly in is probably broken. If that's the case it's free and they'll have rip out the dash to re weld it. Take the black cover near the wipers off and have someone get in the car and press the clutch so you can see if the weld spots are moving in and out. Whenever the dealer wanted to fix mine they knew about the problems and said they would need the car for a day or two to do the job

Edit: I ddudnt see that the guy a few posts up said the same thing lol.

Also, props on the Is f man those things are beautiful
