Default Another Badass EQ Bugeye - 397whp on Cali 91 Octane!

This is another bugeye we finished recently with the following:

EQ Tuning Stage 1 EJ257 Shortblock (CP Pistons, ACL Race Series Bearings, Ballanced/Blueprinted)
EQ Tuning Stage 2 Heads (Brian Crower S2 Cams, valve springs, retainers, 5 angle valve job, bowl blend)
ATP GT35r Stock Location
APS DR525 FMIC
APS 70mm CAI
APS Turbo Inlet
DW 850cc Injectors
Walbro 255lph
UEL Headers
Grimmspeed UP
Tial 44mm EWG
Catless TBE
RA Gearset
EQ Tuning custom tune using Cobb AP V2

Here is the chart of the tune on pure 91 Octane at only 20psi!

This thing was very impressive. With those cams and head work, this engine just flows extremely well even at low boost levels. To give you an idea of the flow, we were hitting 92-93% IDC on the 850cc injectors!

*** Standard Dyno Chart Disclaimer ***

This software reads low and should be compared to the lower reading mustang dynos. Here are some proven numbers and trap speeds for reference:

Stock WRX - 155-165whp
Stock STI - 215-225whp

265-275whp - 107-108mph traps
300-310whp - 112-113mph traps
325-335whp - 115-116mph traps
380-390whp - 120-121mph traps

*** End Disclaimer ***

Thanks

We've never seen these kinds of numbers on straight 91 Octane before. Even rotated GT35r kits usually make about 360-370whp on our gas. This thing really impressed and surprised me.

Forgot to mention we were seeing full boost around 4500RPM in 3rd gear. Remember these are RA gears, so its a fairly short 3rd. Not bad for a 35r with cams and headers . There is also absolutely no lag between shifts and we were seeing 19.5psi in 1st gear!

I'm torn between this turbo. I know a rotated kit will produce better results, but for a car that is ran 98% of the time on pump fuel this seems like a better choice for a 400awhp goal.

Looks like another great tune Ed, nice work.

Thanks for the kind words everyone. I really enjoy these bolt-on turbos. Its amazing how much performance you can get out of such a compact package! We'll be doing a couple bigger rotated builds soon, so keep an eye out
