Default anyone have the Apexi power FC manual in english?

I'd like to learn how to use my power FC, even though I'll be taking it to a tuner in the future. Everything in the manual is in Japanese of course. Thanks for any help in advance.

Actually haven't dug into it much. I like the several functions and the capability of saving different maps, but I'm going to need some help. For now I'm running the oem ecu and it runs smoothly. I'll eventually take my car to Baton Rouge to get it tuned by a shop to get a good base map. I'm also selling my methanol kit on fleabay so staying with stock power until I can go get it tuned. Then I'll buy another aem methanol kit.

Donīt think you can tune the car with just the handcontroller, itīs a pain in the a***! ;(
You need the Datalogitunit, then you can go on quite easy!

He's trying to email it in pdf form, hopefully there is no crazy virus hidden in it.

What information are you looking for?
The Power FC is a straight swap for GC8 STIs and just one ore 2 wires different for WRXs.

I've run it in my car a couple of times already. Its actually been in the car for a couple of days, trying to diagnose a cold start lope that only happens with the stock ecu. I'm just trying to figure out the symbols for yes and no in japanese kanji so I can set the warning and boost settings. I posted a reply to the apex'i link because I'd already tried there and even called the day before yesterday and the tech was totally unhelpful. I think he was just brushing me off. Some companies apparently don't need decent customer service to stay afloat.
Haven't clicked on the links to the sites you posted yet as I'm leary of clicking on every website with my computer having no virus program. I'll check them eventually. Thanks

I run a Power FC in my GT-R (D-Jetro, MAP based) and I just picked up an L-Jetro (MAF) for my Version 6 STI. Yes and No are not written in Kanji, they are written in Hiragana. "Yes" is wrote as はい and "No" is いいえ . However, I can't recall any spot on the PFC menu where it's wrote in Hiragana. I believe it's just "Yes/No".

If you need any specific help, feel free to ask. It's a fairly simple system (as far as a standalone goes). I would HIGHLY suggest picking up datalogit though. A wideband is also a must. If it's a used box, make sure to to a "Data Initialize" first. Also, did you follow the 30 min idle learn procedure?

Haha, I didn't follow any 30 minute procedure. 99% of the info is in Japanese so I had no idea. Mine was new in box but I did try to "initialize" it thinking it may be helpful. There is an option menu for things such as "boost controller, knock warn, etc" and they all have one of two symbols next to them, like a "yes/no" or "enable/disable" selection to turn the options on/off. You can toggle it one way and its one symbol, toggle the other and its another. Both selections for any option are one of the two. I've tried searching the net and have some hiragana and katakana tables but still haven't learned anything helpful.

Yeah thanks, that confirms what the australian skyline site said in the rx7 manual. Is that an actual photo of your powerfc? So "a so" is enable/yes and "na chi" is disable/no?

Yes, that's my PFC. I took that pic just for you. Settings were verified with my DataLogit.

As far as "a so" or "na chi", well, I'll just have to trust you.

Good luck with yours.

I noticed when turning the boost control kit to "disable/off" the car would only boost to 13psi. When enabled it goes to 18-19psi. I thought boost control enable was for the external apexi kit. The car boosts 17-18psi with the oem computer so it seems with the boost control kit turned off it would still run 17-18psi... ?

I have not installed my Boost Control Kit yet. When I turned off the Boost Control Kit option, I got severe spiking and my boost target setting was meaninless. Almost as if thee was no boost control at all. Turn the setting on (all factory still) and it will hold boost very close to the boost target I have the PFC set to.

To me, it appears that it needs to be set to "enabled" to even use the logic or that part of the code.

Is there a "30 minute idle learn procedure"? Do you actually have to let it idle for 30 minutes straight? That seems kind of inefficient.. But then again I can't read the manual.

You have to let the car idle for 10min. afterwards you should turn on the aircondition and fans and let it idle for 5-10min. and turn on the lights as well.

Cut and pasted from Paul's PFC FAQ. I've used this procedure and not had any issues. Even with the 1200cc Injectors in my R33

http://paulr33.skylinesaustralia.com...owerfc-faq.htm

If you are not using the PowerFC boost controller kit make sure you disable this feature. Go to the "Etc" menu and choose "Function Select" and then choose "Boost Control Kit" and set the option to a Japanese character that looks like a plus sign. This will disable the PowerFC boost controller kit.

The PowerFC manual states to start the car, ensure no errors are present and let the car idle for at least 30 minutes. During this idle period wait about 10 minutes, turn on the air con, wait another 10, turn on the demister, wait another 10 minutes or so and then your car is ready to drive. If you short cut the self learn idle procedure once the car is turned off and back on again it will simply stall each time. If this occurs you must factory reset it again and do the procedure from the st.art

Disconnect Power
Unplug stock ECU
Plug in PowerFC ECU
Reconnect Power
Start Car, let it idle for approx 10 minutes before doing anything
Turn on aircon, let it readjust its idle and wait about 10 minutes
Turn on demister, let it readjust its idle and wait about 10 minutes

All done and you are ready to drive with your new ECU now. At this point you should familiarise yourself with using the hand controller and just checking the initial sensors and make sure the basic options are turned on and you know how to read the basic information.
