Question Buddy was looking at dark blue '00 RS and wondering if original owner was on here

My buddy found an '00 RS at a local used car dealer and he was wondering if the original owner was on NESIC. The car looks like it was lightly modded and came from MA so before he drops good money on a car that was potentially beat to all hell he wanted me to post this thread up and see if he could get some info from the original owner.

Supposedly it was involved in an accident and hit a tree a few years back.

Anyone??

^^ He thinks the Springfield area.

Not sure if he's done a Carfax yet, but I recommend it.

I can't imagine there were that many dark blue '00 RS's around - especially modded ones, so figured maybe someone on here knows something about the car. Overall it looks pretty good, but if it was more heavily modded before, raced all the time or stuff like that, then he might move on, ya know?

Looks stock outside of Rallyarmors in that picture.

Might help to get some more pictures/better modlist of the car for someone to be able to identify it.

What dealership is it being sold at? That would help if someone traded it in.

Bingo... so do you know cuz it's your old car, or you just happen to live near there? (or work there )

For everyone else, it's a small used car dealer, so chances are it wasn't traded-in at this dealership at all.

The mod list is purely from what I remember - intake, front strut bar. No spare tire or even a trunk carpet, which kind of makes me think it might have been (partially) stripped and raced. Which of course then makes me think that maybe at some point it was even more heavily modded, which would tend to not bode well for long-term reliability. I might have had an aftermarket exhaust, but if it did, nothing very loud.
The front bumper definitely took a hit near the foglights at some point in it's life.

Or he
1) looked at the picture in the background and identified Stickley being a furniture gallery.
2) went to Stickley's website and the store locator page
3) punched in a CT zip code

and found that the Stickley dealer is located on Rt. 5 in Enfield.

Nope, I live near there and drive by that dealership every day. I've also seen that car in the parking lot and stopped over there to look at it once.

I have no idea who had it or anything about it, nor could I help you find the person.

Also that Stickley dealer is out of business.

I wouldn't bother. Shamless link to a whole recent post I have on the subject:

So how has it been holding up over the years? Would you recommend that model for someone like my buddy to use as a daily driver since his fun car is dead half the time

It's an ok tool for things like total losses, VIN issues, etc. But don't ever expect it to detail crashes.
