Which one of these tires would you buy?
Bridgestone Potenza RE11 / RE-01R Kumho Excsta XS Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 Star Spec Advan Neova AD08/AD07 For a daily driven car / AUTO X on the weekends i did some reading on each of the tires but just want some opinions from people that have had experience with one of these, if you have a better tire suggestion than the ones above please feel free to post it up, thanks

If you could find some clearanced priced RE-01R's, I'd do that. The bridgestone's are much better road tires than any of the others listed. If I couldn't (which is probably your situation), I'd get the Kumho's.

^^^ Yup, for daily driving with not-ultra competitive autox, get the tire that's best on the road. I'd even suggest not looking at the tires on that list as they are honestly competition designed.

Having read comments from autox'ers on this board and results from various shootouts the XS would be my choice for daily driving and weekend track use.
Based on my driving experience with the XS since November, I'll buy XS again. I do spirited daily driving with weekend highway fun drives. What constitutes the best "road tire" is somewhat subjective. Personally, I want a road tire that can stand up to track heat and take the turns as well as/if not better than the more expensive RE-11 at much less cost. The XS is fine in the wet for DD plus a little more. I've driven the tires in temperatures in the low 40's. They start out hard at those temperatures but warm up after a few minutes on the road. I don't know if I had anyone driving RE-11's behind me last winter but if there were any ahead of me they weren't there for long. If I was looking for a performance tire for summer only I'd buy the XS. In my climate I get to drive extreme summer tires all year long and take another car with all seasons and chains into the mountains. |

Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 Star Spec because dunlops have stiffer sidewalls so you get a little bit more of a stiffer sportier feel from them when auto-xing.

What about the Hankook ventus RS2 Z212? I love them, stiffer sidewalls, awesome grip when hot, good in rain.

I choose the Kuhmo XS. They have gotten good reviews and are available in 245/35 18 at a great price. I just got them yesterday and I haven't put them on the car yet so I can't comment any further than that.

RS-2 and Ecsta MX have been surpassed by the tires in the OP but they are still superb performers and definitly put you into the extreme performance summer world.

Bridgestone Potenza ,Dunlop and Advan Neova for a good price, just cant make my decision, i also had the Kumho XS on there because i read some good things about them but those i would have to get some were else, so the price on the first 3 above is not really an issue http://www.upgarage.com/upgarage/sto...6012001298/012 http://www.upgarage.com/upgarage/sto...6012001304/012 |

xs hands down! i have no regrets with mine. they're a bit loud after a few autox's and dd use but work just fine as a dd. i'm more than happy with em especially after witnessing how well they are at autox.
