Exclamation So how's the install on a ProECM/ScoobySport Torque Chip?

I want to get a Torque Chip, either one because I hear they're almost identical, but how's the install on them? I've got a friend who's brother is a mechanical genius so I was probably going to let him solder it in. Anyone with their own experiences, please let me know.

I just used plug connectors. It's really easy to do, but there's not a lot of wire to work with and it's a pain to figure out exactly which wire you want to cut. Other than that, it's not too difficult if you've worked on wiring before.

Just to clarify, Danzborin is talking about the ProECM powerchip, not the TCII (there is a difference). The ProECM powerchip comes with connectors and installations manual for easy installation and removal.

Ok that's It!!! I don't care what you people say anymore...I'm going out and buying that ProECM chip this weekend!!! And there's nothing you can do to stop me!!!

ProECM...Yup, I'm buying one this weekend. Just to let you know, I was talked into it by all the good press from forumites. This is one time when I'm going to say, "Ah faugettaboudid! I'm jumping on the bandwagon."

So how long does it usually take to ship?

Hey, do me a favor and post a review once you've got it installed, I'd like to know how big of a difference these things make

I can tell you right now...

It works great, increased throttle response, increase in torque throughout the entire band (especially midrange torque ). I don't think you get gobs of horsepower, but it makes the car feel much better, and makes you wonder why it didn't come that way...
