Default A 2011 Subaru Baja - Should Subaru bring it back

Should Subaru bring back the Baja. Dealers can't keep the used ones on the lot and most are selling for top dollar.. What do you think. Also what do you think about the below image of what the new 2011 Baja would look like? Comments please ....

You should ask a mod to move this to General for you. This isn't Newbies & FAQs material.

Meanwhile, it took dealers two years after production to get the last new Baja off the lot.

I vote no. I'd rather see a two door Brat based off the Impreza or Forester.

I love my Baja and I would buy another in a heartbeat! I like the looks of the 2011 pictured, but I would love to see it in person!

I don't care about anything Subaru comes out with in the near future except for a damn STI SEDAN... COME ON SUBARU! I have full respect for the 08-09 STI's, but damn, no sedan yet?

/endrant.

The only way they should bring it back is if it is a 2 door only like the first BRAT, and with a smaller engine and the fwd, dual range selectable 4wd. put the jump seats back in but have them as regular rear facing seats with safety top hard roll cover, so it can still be classified as a car, not truck.

I thought the older model was a much nicer looking baja, but I don't see why not

I liked them, but I never saw much how practical a baja would be.

It's like a car but with a truck back end, except the truck bed area is really small. So you can't load it up with much, and you can't tow anything more than you could tow with any of the other subaru cars.

I guess my problem is that I try to compare the Baja to a truck, but it isn't one. I just can't see myself using a crossover type vehicle like that.

I kinda agree, I kinda put up with the first one/didnt think it looked too bad. The back of this looks like a hacked up back of a toyota sienna, the front could use some revisting too imo, the headlights seem to tall/elongated i think...

OH and +1 for another brat and for a STi sedan (or even better (to some) coupe)

I've always thought that the Baja has about as much use as a chocolate teapot.

Bring it back, make the back bigger and I'll buy it.

The loaner one I had was admittedly fun, but people laughed out loud when they saw me get out of it.

It would be much better if it were based off the forester.

+1. especially from the looks of this pic, how is it any more useful than a sedan with a big trunk and fold down rear seats?
you can haul so much more with an outback or legacy wagon.
what they really need to bring back is the Legacy wagon GT 5 speed.
