Default Interchangability of AC components

I'm in the process of reparing my AC system in my MY00 2.5RS and need to replace some parts. This is what I need:

fan on the passenger side of the engine bay
AC drier
line from condesor to drier

does anyone know if any other models (lower model Imprezas, legacy, outback, etc...) will fit the GC8? I'm gonna call around to junkyards to try to find the parts but I need to know if anything is interchangable between models since wrecked GC8s aren't that common around here.
Thanks
Evan

I cant comment on specific application/interchangibility, however I can offer you this advice:

Replacing the dryer with a new unit is the preferred method, as the dessicant charge deteriorates if left open to the atmosphere for any length of time, and may contain contaminates from prior use. New units are sealed until time of installation.

When purchasing used piping components be aware that the slightest contamination or leakage will disable the entire system, and possibly damage expensive parts. (eg. compressor).

Specialized and expensive tools are required to evacuate, and recharge the system after repairs have been made. Any deviation from certain proceedures will render the system useless, and may cause costly damage.

Not trying to scare you away, just letting you know ahead of time what you're up against.

Keep Cool !!!
Dave

yeah, that's what i'm learning. I'll probably end up buying all the parts new since people don't wreck imprezas around here I guess. I was gonna get a new drier anyway.
Thanks
Evan
