More projects than
you can shake a stick at.

depends on the tire size, a 235/40 should be okay, much wider you will need camber or fenders rolled

It would help if you told us what car you have.
On a GD chassis, set up by a knowledgable alignment shop, you can run an 18x8.5" with a higher offset without any issues outside of a mild rub on the inner fender.

I had no issues outside of the little inner rub when running 18x8.5, +48, although they fit better when I ran a small spacer to create an effective +45. This was with 245/40/18 RT615 tires.

Any number lower than a +35, and you have some work to do.

Default I have an 04 with those wheels

I have an 04 wagon with stock springs and struts but with strut tower braces and 22mm sways on hard. I have Rota SVN 18X8.5 with a +45 offset I believe. I have 235/40/18's Potenza RE050's. They are a little big on the inside it barely fits and I mean it rubs a little when I say that...not too bad, just on the rim guard rubber on the tire hits the strut. Also you will have to roll your fenders if you actually intend on turning hard at all especially with people in the car. I didn't roll mine far enough back and it still hits a little. I am about to fix that and try to get some stiffer springs and struts and lower it like 1". We'll see how that goes though. If you want pics let me know and I wil throw them up.

I think 225/40/18's would fit no problem.
