Fit and finish is supurb, installation was easier than documented. Like the WRX version no need to remove front bumper, just take off passenger front tire and peel away the lining to expose the area where the filter will reside. Silicone hoses provided and a hole for the MAF folks.
This is all from my POV. Lost a little bit of low end torque, but after you hit 3500 the intake roars to life and pulls very hard to 5500. At anything below WOT the intake is subtle but at 3500+ and WOT its louder than my Stromung. The aluminum stays cool unlike the steel ISR pipe. Overall very happy with this intake as its a marked improvment over the ISR and worlds apart from stock. Pictures here Maybe one day when I'm not lazy... I'll update pics with in-fender shots.

The Injen CAI has a hole in the intake to mount the MAF. I doubt it will work for very long from reading about the MAF failures with aftermarket intakes.

I got a few questions about this intake. First what intake did you get. when i went to the injen site it says they make it for 1998 rs and 2002 rs. I dont see anywhere where i can get it for a 2000. also how does it sound. does it do the clicking when get on it. like click phhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh? I love when intakes do that. Maybe you can upload a sound file, i would love to hear it.

i'll get that sound bite up for you in the next couple days.
im sure the 98 is for RS 98-2001. the intake is the same for MAF and MAP folks. not sure about the clicking sound... the intake is quiet up to 3500 then it roars |

This is apparently the actual MAF (Courtesy of Scoobymods )
http://www.scoobymods.com/mods/impre...ges/maf001.jpg I believe thats the only part you need to install on the intake hole. |

There are two what they call safety Torx screws holding the MAF into the plastic tube. I still wouldn't trust my (MY99) MAF in there even if it would fit. There is a screen in front of the OEM MAF to straighten out the air just before the sensor. That coupled w/ the fact that you would just be press fitting it in the tube and not really securing it would be enough to scare me away from it.
I also don't like the idea of not having the large plenum behind the TB anymore. But that's just me. |

my Injen does not have the MAF hole. there are 2 versions. the 98 version is for you MAF folks and the 2002 Version is for the 2000-2002 RS's that have MAP sensors.
